Southwest Airlines Flights
Have you heard the news? Southwest Airlines just announced several new changes coming in 2025, with hopes to elevate the customer experience, improve financial performance, and drive shareholder value.
Here are the 4 main changes –
- Assign seats to meet customer preferences.
- Offer premium seating options to increase revenue opportunities.
- Redesign the boarding model including product designs, cabin layout, timing, & more.
- Introduce redeye flights for sale to further optimize the network and increase aircraft utilization.
What's the scoop?
After conducting extensive research, Southwest decided it will assign seats and offer premium seating options on all flights. The airline has been known for its unique open seating model for more than 50 years, but preferences have evolved with more customers taking longer flights where a seat assignment is preferred.
In addition to assigning seats, Southwest will offer a premium, extended legroom portion of the cabin that many customers strongly prefer. While specific cabin layout details are still in design, Southwest expects roughly one-third of seats across the fleet to offer extended legroom.
Southwest will also update the seating and boarding model as part of their ongoing modernization efforts. Work is well underway on a refreshed cabin design, including new, more comfortable RECARO seats.

Frontier Airlines Flights
Prefer Frontier Airlines?? They are offering one-way flights from select cities for as low as $19 (scroll down to see all of the participating locations). Note that there aren’t a ton of cities included in the sale, but it might be worth driving a little ways to get to one to save so much!
My neighbor took advantage of a great Frontier offer last year and was SO pleased with her flight. Such a great way to save if you’re traveling to any cities that are included in their sales right now!

It’s just another airline price gouging the customer with more fees – seating and it’ll be luggage next. you would have thought they made enough money during pandemic by replacing funds people spend for airline tickets with points.
All airlines advertise great sales, however when you pay for any luggage, including carry on at $50 and seats at $30-60. The price of your ticket is not on sale.

I left SW &Frontier a long time ago, overbooked flights were constant, long delays, very uncomfortable seating, never liked the unassigned seating, especially when traveling with kids. Then the constant breakdowns and repairs. And it’s because of all of the above they are dropping their prices and revamping the interior, but constant overbooking and long delays won’t sell tickets.

SW is a great deal. I took advantage of this sale and I’m traveling to Maryland from NC to visit my Mom for Mother’s Day. In addition to the great fares SW allows up to two checked bags FREE.
Frontier is horrible! The fares are always low, however they will nickle and dime you with fees. I flew from NC to Philadelphia for a quick overnight trip. $17
Fortunately I had a small carry on, so there wasn’t a charge. There are fees if THEY decide you carry on is too big. You are forced to pay an unexpected checked bag fee. In addition thesre are fees for select seats which are determined by the location of seat. They overbook. You’re better off catching a sale or booking with another carrier.

Where can you see a list of the $49 SW flights. Everytime i put in a date or location i get nothing close to $49
Hi Danielle, I am sorry you are having trouble finding a good price. The prices vary depending on location and time. I know there is a tab to see the lowest cost flights to make it a little easier, but there may not be many options left! I hope that helps.
