My husband just emailed me our family's budget for the month, and it's been quite a few months since I've really taken a look at it. Â I'm amazed at how crazy detailed he is (he's a bit of a budget nerd . . . ), but love seeing that he really does plan for just about everything for our family.
Does your family live on a budget? Â Have you found it to be helpful to be on a budget, or does it cause anxiety for your family? Â (I'll be honest, while we've always lived on a budget, it stresses my hubby out to no end, but gives me such peace . . . funny how it works that way!)
By the way, here's a free budget worksheet from Microsoft.  I'd also highly recommend checking out  Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace Program if you haven't already – it really can change your family's financial future.

Hi Laurie, I do the budget for my family and it brings me relieve and anxiety. My husband does not even open mail, lol. I’m ok with it, he is sooo stressed on his job that I can handle the stress of the budget and give him updates as needed. It so helpful to be organized and know what you have spent and forecast for the upcoming months and holidays.

Bet your husband isn’t as detailed as mine! haha! We started a budget years ago. He has a spread sheet for everything you could think of plus ones for things you couldn’t think of. He documents every little thing we/I purchase. It drives me crazy. I got so tired of putting everything in the spread sheets that I just give him the receipts now and let him do it. The only good thing is the one called “Big Expenses for the Year”, things like car repaired, appliances, wisdom teeth, college expenses, etc. It’s interesting to go back and wonder “how did we pay for all that!

I so understand Tammy! I don’t often check out the budget (I know which amounts I spend on certain things), so it was kind of funny to see how detailed he is too! I’m so glad that one of us is that way though because it really does make life so much easier . . . I really can’t imagine how we’d manage our money w/o it!
