One-Skillet Meaty Pizza Pasta Casserole
If your family is craving pizza for dinner but you want to make it a little heartier and change it up a bit, this Meaty Pizza Pasta Casserole is sure to be a hit! The best part? It’s made in just one big skillet so you’ve got less dishes to do!
This skillet meal combines all your favorite pizza flavors and adds in tasty pasta and Italian sausage for a complete meal. Plus, top it with some pepperonis and you’ve got a show stopped on your dinner table.
We like to pair this meal with a yummy side salad and garlic bread to tie it all together, but it’s delicious all on its own! Here’s how to make this yummy dish.

Ingredients needed:
- Ground Italian sausage
- Pepperoni
- Bowtie pasta
- Shredded Mozzarella cheese
- Spaghetti sauce
- Oregano
- Basil
- Garlic powder
How to make this meaty pizza casserole:
Start by cooking the bowtie pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a a large, oven-safe skillet (like cast iron), brown the Italian sausage until it’s crumbly and drain.
To the same skillet, add your pepperoni, leaving a bit for the end. You can either dice the pepperoni for smaller bites, or cook it in rounds for the full pizza effect. Cook for a minute until warmed. Then, add in the spaghetti sauce and spices and stir to combine.
Cook on the stove until the sauce is warmed and then add in the cooked pasta. Carefully mix until everything is combined.
Next, we’re adding in some cheesy goodness! Top with the shredded cheese and a few remaining pepperonis.
Broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
Serve with a side salad for a complete meal and enjoy!
One-Skillet Meaty Pizza Pasta Casserole
Ingredients
- 12 oz box bowtie pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- ½ cup pepperoni, sliced and divided
- 24 oz jar spaghetti sauce
- ½ tsp oregano
- ½ tsp basil
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Heat oven to broil. Prepare pasta according to package directions.
- In oven-safe large skillet, cook sausage until browned and crumbly; drain. Add ¼ cup pepperoni and cook 1 minute.
- Add sauce, oregano, basil, and garlic powder in skillet and cook until heated. Add pasta and heat 1-2 minutes. Sprinkle cheese and remaining pepperoni; remove from heat.
- Place into oven and broil 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
