How to Clean Patio Furniture Cushions using Dawn Powerwash!

After a long winter, your patio cushions might be in need of a BIG refresh (I know mine did!).   If you’re looking to spend more time outdoors this spring, be sure your cushions are ready to go.

When we saw ours needed a big clean, we grabbed this car detailing drill set, some Dawn Powerwash, and got to work – and you won’t BELIEVE how well it worked!

We’ve tried SEVERAL patio cleaners and by far – The BEST Patio Furniture Cushion Cleaner is 100% Dawn Powerwash!  Check out the transformation of out patio furniture below. 

How to Use Dawn Powerwash for Cleaning Your Patio Furniture

To get started using Powerwash to clean your furniture, you’ll need to grab just two things:

1. A drill and these drill attachments
2. Dawn Powerwash

Note that if you don’t have a drill or don’t want to buy these attachments, you can still totally use this method.  Grab a scrub daddy or some sponges instead.  Same process, you’ll just probably have to use a bit more elbow grease!

Go ahead and spray your cushions with Powerwash (just know that this does sud up A LOT so don’t use more than you need).  You can let it sit a bit or just head right into it with your drill.   Scrub with the drill attachments until you feel the grime is off and then rinse with a hose until the soap from the Dawn is out.

Allow your cushions to try then you’re done!

Can you Wash Patio Cushions in the Washing Machine?

If you take the cushion covers off, MOST cushions will handle the washing process.  However, one of our PPP team members did try to wash the *whole* cushion earlier this season and ended up with a BIG mess.  It completely depends on the patio cushions temperament as well as what the fabric is made out of.  We prefer using this Dawn Powerwash method as it REALLY got the stains out and we don’t have to worry about any mishaps using the washer 🙂
