Since it's Finance February I'm sending maybe a little bit of encouragement today for you ~ when in doubt . . . just bake the cake.
In a world where it often feels easier and easier to Amazon-Door-Dash-Instacart-Grub-Hub-and-Uber-Eats almost everything, sometimes we forget the value of simply baking a cake.
All it takes is a Duncan Hines Cake mix (watch for a sale ~ I promise they make the best super-fast cakes!), a little frosting, and a teensy bit of ingenuity.
Grab a cake topper on Amazon if you want (um, they do kind of help!), skip out on Pinterest perfection, and just bake the cake.
It doesn't have to be perfect. But you'll save a ton of money, and your sweet family will remember these days.
For years (and years and years!) I've baked a LOT of cakes for my family.
and messed up quite a few too. 🙂
I've made a chocolate chocolate chip cake.
A Ladybug cake.
A homemade Great American chocolate chip cookie cake.
A pirate ship cake.
A polka dot cake.
A frog cake.
A cookie monster cake.
A princess cake.
A halloween cake.
Some cute marshmallow flower cupcakes.

And just this week, a super easy even if it turned out really hairy 😂 golf cake. (This cake topper and the grass tip made it EASY though. You can do this!)
Not a single one of them has been any where close to perfect and nowhere near close to what to Pinterest or Instagram standards in 2022.
I haven't taken any cake classes so they're sure not fancy.
But they are cheap.
And they're (um, mostly?) pretty easy.
In a world where everything looks hard, and some days just feel a little difficult and maybe just a wee-bit-over-the-top . . .
keep it simple.
Just bake the cake.
Spoil your family when you can.
And celebrate those closest to you each and every day. ❤️
