Marshmallow Flower Cupcakes – So Pretty To Make!
I'm soooooo excited about these Marshmallow Flowers that I made today!
Over in our Dinner's Done Facebook group, one of the members shared her pictures of these simple Marshmallow Flower Cupcakes and I was soooo impressed.
I wasn't quite sure how big a job they would be, but it turns out they were super simple, and such a great project to make with my kids.
I love that. 🙂
You're going to want to start with your cupcakes – either make them from scratch or buy a cake mix and whip them up. Once they are completely cooled, you can go ahead and add frosting to the cupcakes.
If you're feeling REALLY adventurous, you could try using melted chocolate instead of frosting, but you'd have to go pretty quick to get the petals applied.
How to Make Marshmallow Flowers
Next, you're going to get started on making your marshmallow petals.
Take your mini marshmallows and cut them in half diagonally. Add them into a small bowl or sandwich baggie and then add your colored sugar into the bag. Mix or give a good shake and your petals will be ready to be turned into a pretty flower.
Add the homemade marshmallow petals onto your cupcake, starting with the outside and working inward. If there is a more sticky side of the marshmallow from the decorating sugars, use that one to help hold the petal on.
While they're wayyyy more time consuming than I realized they would be (isn't everything?), it's always fun to learn a new skill, so I'm having fun along the way!
