With moms of all ages sharing their faves – we got a fantastic variety of answers from thoughtful homemade items to high-tech wonders. The #1 answer by FAR when we asked readers about the best baby shower gifts they received – was DIAPERS & Wipes. Many pointed out that they were most grateful for larger sized diapers because baby grew out of newborn sizes so fast.
Getting new parents a monthly diaper subscription from Amazon is a fantastic idea!
2 . Hatch Sound/White Noise Machine
This soothing sound machine also doubles as a nightlight, or middle-of-the-night nursing and diaper changing light – and you can control all the settings from your phone. Or get the travel version so you can take it on car rides and to grandma’s house!
3 . Baby Swing
A baby swing can be a life-saver if your baby loves a constant rocking motion – and the Mamaroo was the most recommmended Baby Swing in our poll! Honestly, baby swings have come a long way since mine were itty bitty, these are so much more compact!

The times you are panicking in the middle of the night are the exact times you DON’T want to run to the pharmacy or Walmart to get a nasal aspirator or baby Tylenol. Making your own? Ideas include: Tylenol, Boudreaux’s Butt Paste, thermometer, gas drops, pacifiers, orajel, safety clippers etc.

This is a DARLING idea to help start baby’s first library – have guests bring their favorite childhood books or baby books instead of a card! Board books are the best at holding up to little chubby hands and drooley little mouths 🙂

One of the most useful things a new parent can own – a play yard is an awesome gift to help in those early days! Lots of folks sleep their newborn in their own rooms in the Pack & Play for those first few months.

22 . Let them pick!
Although everyone likes to believe they know the BEST gift – sometimes it’s really best to let mom and dad decide what they need/want. In many cases the parents have put in hours of research before adding items to their baby registry and truly want those exact items.
If they’re out of your budget (and I know some of those things are PRICEY) get them gift cards to the store so they can combine efforts and buy that expensive double-stroller or car seat system!

Some moms may already have picked out their hospital outfit – but it doesn’t hurt to have an extra as a thoughtful gift! Also those hospitals can be FREEZING – so a cozy robe to cuddle up with baby is a great idea.
