How to make Kentucky Hot Brown Sliders
This recipe is SO delicious and easy to make!
Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees and spraying a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. You’ll want to have cooked bacon ahead of time for this one – I usually like to do this in the oven and try to think of other meals we’ll be eating that include bacon as well so I can make it all at once!
In a saucepan, melt one tablespoon of butter. Once melted, whisk in one tablespoon of flour. Cook briefly over medium heat until it starts to turn a golden brown. Then, whisk in a cup of milk and salt & pepper. Whisk constantly until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Once it starts to thicken (like you’re making gravy), remove the pan from heat and stir in one cup of shredded white cheddar cheese.
Slide the sheet of Hawaiian rolls out of the package without separating the rolls. Using a large bread knife, cut the rolls in half all the way across, giving you one top piece and one bottom piece.
Layer the sliced turkey, thinly-sliced tomatoes, and crumbled bacon over top. Then, drizzle with the yummy homemade cheese sauce you made.
Finally, add the top piece to the sandwiches.
Melt 1/4 cup butter and add 1/2 teaspoon each garlic salt and dried parsley. Use a brush to evenly apply to the top of all the rolls, drizzling down the sides.
Cover the whole pan with foil and bake about 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and everything is hot.
Enjoy immediately with your favorite sandwich sides like pickles, chips, or potato salad!
