The biggest game changer for me was learning to eat in a smarter schedule – especially intermittent fasting! (Here’s my morning routine if you’re curious!). In the last year, I’ve bumped up my fasting window a little earlier in the day now after seeing success with this program for years. I’ve held a pretty steady weight of 145 (which is just fine for me at this age ~ I’m 5’7″ for context and still the freedom to enjoy a York Peppermint Patty every once in a while!).
I fast primarily now from 6PM to around 9AM since I wake up at 4:30 most mornings, and then eat a protein-heavy breakfast. It’s continuing to work for me, and I’m so thankful – I turned 50 in November and still feel for the most part like I’ve stayed on track!
The pictures above are of me walking 54,000 steps with my family at Disney to celebrate my birthday, and a few more from the last few months (bottom right was on my actual birthday!). I honestly don’t really feel a bit of 50 quite yet, and I’m incredibly grateful for feeling pretty great at my age, especially given how truly unhealthy I was in my early years.
