Dollar Tree Valentine Craft – XO Anthropologie Vase

Cheree’ here!

I saw these super cute XO Valentine vases over at Anthropologie (It looks like they’re out of stock at Anthropologie, but they looked like this) and knew immediately I could make a knock-off version for waaaaaay less by using a vase from the Dollar Tree. This Dollar Tree Valentine craft turned out so stinkin’ cute, I love it!

How to make a Dollar Tree Valentine Vase

You’ll want to remove any stickers and clean your vase before starting.

Next, paint the outside of the vase with the white chalk paint. Let dry then give it another coat or two of paint and let dry.

To make the XO’s, squirt a bit of red and pink paint out on a paper plate. Dip your paint brush first in the red and then in the pink paint. Starting at the bottom of the vase make an X first, dip paint again and then make the O. I suggest practicing this several times on a piece of paper until you get the X’s and O’s to look the way you want them.

The good thing is they are supposed to all be different so that makes this DIY way less intimidating than other painted projects. ❤️

If you’re interested in watching how I made these (and splashed paint all over the place), you can see the tutorial here:

How to style your finished Valentine vase

Because the inside of the vase is unpainted glass you can fill it with fresh flowers. I used these darling Paper Flowers in my smaller vase and a faux greenery bundle I found at Walmart for my taller vase.

I also like these Astilbe stems from Target and think they would look adorable in this Dollar Tree Valentine Vase.
