How to make sweet & Spicy Salmon
We're aiming for minimal work and dishes for this one so don't bother with a bowl or whisk! Just add all marinade ingredients to a quart-size Ziploc bag, seal it up, and squeeze it around to combine.
Then, place your salmon into a gallon-size Ziploc bag. Depending on the size of your filet, you may need to fold or cut it to fit it into the bag. I use kitchen shears to cut fish – it makes this process CRAZY easy!
Then, in another gallon-size Ziploc bag, place your bagged salmon and marinade. Label and freeze. (P.S. make sure to use your freezer baby card for easy labeling and serving-day cooking!)
When you've got the salmon on your menu, thaw in the fridge overnight. This recipe cannot be made from frozen so make sure to give yourself that extra day's notice to defrost. 🙂
Combine the salmon and marinade in one bag and refrigerate for 30 minutes to let the flavors mix.
Preheat your oven to 375°. Line a baking sheet with a large piece of foil. Place the salmon onto the foil and pour the marinade overtop. Fold up all sides of the foil to create a little pocket around the salmon filet. You'll want it almost sealed, leaving just a small opening on top.
Bake 15-20 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Cooking times vary depending on the the thickness of your fish so keep an eye out and extend as needed. Open the foil packet and broil 1-2 minutes to get a nice caramelization on the top of the fish.
Garnish with sliced green onions and serve warm.
