These gorgeous snowflake shaped marshmallows are SURE to be a hit with the kids and adults alike. And they're surprisingly EASY to make!
Homemade Snowflake Shaped Marshmallows
There is nothing better on a cold winter's night than some hot cocoa with marshmallows. If you would like to add a cute extra touch to your cocoa, try these easy, 3-ingredient snowflake shaped marshmallows!
These homemade marshmallows are a fun touch and even make your hot cocoa creamier. These are also a great way to cool down the drinks (without watering them down) for kiddos since they are kept in the freezer. Here's how to make them!
These marshmallows pair perfectly with our 4-Ingredient Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix!
Ingredients needed for homemade marshmallows:
Here's everything you need to make these snowflake marshmallows:
- 8 oz container of cool whip
- 7 oz container of marshmallow creme
- About 1/4 – 1/2 cup cold water
How to make snowflake shaped marshmallows:
Start by combining your cool whip, marshmallow creme, and water in a large mixing bowl. Mix until smooth by hand or with an electric hand mixer.
Line a 9×13-inch baking sheet with wax or parchment paper. Pour your mixture onto the baking sheet and freeze for a minimum of 24 hours.
Once frozen, use a snowflake cookie cutter to make your shapes. Keep in the freezer until ready to use, and then add to the top of a prepared cup of cocoa.
Tips for making homemade marshmallows:
These snowflake shaped marshmallows can get a little messy! Make sure your mixture is completely frozen before trying to make the snowflake shapes.
Since these are just cool whip and marshmallow creme, they are not shelf stable and will not last long outside of the freezer. You CAN make real marshmallows that are not frozen and are more suitable for a hot cocoa bar.
