Supplies needed

The supplies you’ll need for these adorable cookies:

  • 80mm size plastic fillable ornament ball – the set I grabbed is a 12-pack so you can make 24 cookies!
  • Sugar cookie dough or pre-made sugar cookies
  • Sprinkles
  • Edible frosting decorating toppers
  • White Frosting
  • Optional – shredded coconut to look like snow
  • Gumdrops, mini candy canes, small gingerbread men, or any other candy toppers

How to make snow globe cookies

You can use pre-made, un-iced sugar cookies for this project or bake your own! If you’re baking from scratch, prepare your dough as usual. If you’re using store bought dough, roll it out using a rolling pin.

Using a cookie cutter or glass that is similar in diameter to your plastic ornament, cut out circles from the dough. Then, bake cookies according to recipe or package directions.

The smell of cookies baking is pretty much unmatched, isn’t it??

Once the cookies have cooled, apply your frosting to the top of the cookie. Add some coconut or sprinkles to look like the “snow” in the snow globe.

Next, add your little winter animals/candy canes/santas/Christmas figurines/gumdrops whatever you want to decorate with to the cookie to create a little scene. If your decorating toppers are falling down, you could put a marshmallow behind the little figurines to help them stand upright.

I grabbed these little 2D Icing decorations from Target. They are so adorable! I snagged the “Merry Buddies” and the Christmas Trees.

Lastly, put one half of the ornament ball on top of the cookie. I used a little more frosting around the outside of the ornament ball to “glue” it to the cookie to make sure it wouldn’t fall off.

And that’s it! You’ve made the cutest little winter scene on a cookie! You can make each cookie the same using the same decorating toppers and sprinkles, or you can make each snow globe cookie differently! Not only are these cookies amazing, but they also taste delicious!

These cookies are real showstoppers, and they are sure to impress everyone at your work parties or at your kids’ class parties!
