Mom's Emergency Candy Stash - an Easy DIY for Mother's Day

DIY Mother’s Day Gift – Emergency Candy Stash

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly Mother’s Day gift and want to put a little more effort in than just grabbing a coffee card, this idea for a Mother’s Day DIY gift is perfect! You can make this for any mom in your life or even use this idea for a teacher gift or save it for father’s day.

I love this gift because it is so thoughtful – mom will appreciate that you know her favorite candy or treats. Plus, you can put together a wonderful gift for less than $10 if you’re on a tight budget this year.

This is a wonderful gift to get the kids involved in making! Kiddos love to pick out things for their mom, and giving them something specific to hunt for (mom’s favorite candy) helps in the shopping and creating.

Here’s how to make this sweet gift:

I grabbed these adorable “snackle boxes” from the Target Dollar Spot. They only had blue ones at my store but I’ve seen pictures of clear and other colors online.

If you’re looking for something a little bigger or that holds more snacks, this is another great option that is PPP tested and loved!

Next, grab some of mom’s favorite candies or treats. Head to the Dollar Tree for this one – they have SO many tasty options and everything is just $1.25 so you’ll get more bang for your buck than buying at the grocery store.

How To Make Mother’s Day DIY Candy Stash

Once you’ve got your snack box home, don’t forget to wash it before filling it with candy! Place a variety of candy or snacks in each compartment.

Write or print out a tag that says “Mom’s Emergency Stash” (or the recipient of your sweet gift) and tape to the outside or inside lid of the box.

You can include a card inside with a sweet note (maybe a cute candy-themed poem like this fun candy-gram!) that will make her feel extra loved.

You can always wrap this with a ribbon or top with a gift bow to add a final, adorable touch!
