DIY Gift Wrap Station
If you're always scrambling to find gift wrap in a big box, untangle your ribbon, or thinking “where the heck did the tape go I literally JUST used it” – you need to try this DIY gift wrap station!
This is perfect for organizing all your wrapping supplies for Christmas, or even all year round if you have a good spot to keep this cart. Plus, if you're storing your wrapping again for next Christmas, I've got an IKEA hack that you're going to love.
Here's how to create your own DIY gift wrap station (and all the fun gadgets I'm using to wrap my gifts!):
Supplies for DIY Gift Wrap Station
I'm using my handy rolling cart (you can tell from the handles I've had it for years) because the three tiers are great for dividing supplies, and I can roll it around with me. Here's a similar one on Amazon that has great reviews: 3 Tier Metal Rolling Cart.
I'm also using these clear organizing bins that I had left over from organizing my pantry. I love how thick these are and the variety of sizes.
Put the bins on the top shelf to organize ribbon, small bags and gift card boxes, and tools. I won't wrap gifts anymore without these Wrap Buddies (they're seriously a life saver) and this paper cutting tool.
On the middle shelf, I've got my bags and tissue paper. On the bottom shelf, I have foldable boxes. I love that I can just grab and go! If you have large gift bags, grab a sticky Command hook to attach to the outside of the cart and hang the larger bags from their handles.
How to organize wrapping paper
Here's where this genius IKEA hack comes in! To organize your wrapping paper so that it's not falling all over the place and unraveling, grab these plastic bag dispensers from IKEA. These are only $2.99 so such a great buy!
(If you don't have an IKEA nearby, here's an option on Amazon that isn't quite as cost-effective but is the same product.)
I used Command Picture Hanging strips (I use these for pretty much everything on my walls!) because I know the sticky is SO strong, these babies aren't going anywhere. I used four strips per basket and can confidently hold 8-10 rolls of wrapping paper.
PLUS, the best part about these picture hanging strips is the velcro that allows you to take them on and off. So, if you're dismantling your DIY gift wrap station after the holiday and storing the wrapping supplies for next year, you can just pop the containers off to store and easily attach them right back on next December.

FYI: If you were to buy the IKEA bag dispensers online they are more by the time you add shipping than the Amazon option. We don’t have a local IKEA and I shop online with them, but without free shipping (and I’m trying to be good and not add other things I don’t need, LOL) it’s not a better deal if you have Amazon Prime. 🙂
Love this though and will be set up in the new year with it so wrapping for birthdays (and everything else between now and next Christmas when it will really be the most useful) will be at my fingertips and in one neat and tidy place! THANK YOU!
