Caramel Apple Bites

If you love the taste of a traditional Caramel Apple during the fall, you will LOVE this smaller, bite-sized version! These caramel apple bites are crazy easy to make and offer the nostalgic taste of a candied apple in a convenient finger food.

These bites are fun to make for a fall party, or just to treat your family and munch on during a fall movie night. Get ready to make this yummy snack!

Here’s another fun take on a classic – Caramel Apple Nachos!

Ingredients needed

  • Green apples
  • Mini pretzels
  • Rolo candies (or regular caramels

How to make Caramel Apple Bites

Start by dicing your green apples into bite-size chunks. I used my fool-proof “no brown” method and soaked the chopped apples in cold salt water for ten minutes.

Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 250°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place pretzels in rows – you can do as many pretzels as you’d like to serve! (I went with 25 initially but these were so yummy I wish I had doubled that! )

Now the most tedious part – unwrap your Rolos. Place one Rolo onto each pretzel. If you prefer no chocolate, you can use plain soft caramels for this and get a similar, delicious result.

Place the baking sheet with your pretzel + Rolo combo into the oven. Bake for just about 4-5 minutes – enough to get the candy nice and soft without melting.

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and place an apple chunk onto each bite, pressing down slowly to squish the candy down. I just love the melty, chocolatey goodness!

That’s it! An optional step for serving (I skipped this) if you’re hosting a party is to stick a long toothpick into the center of each bite. This makes serving even easier. These can get just a little messy with the melted chocolate so some folk might prefer a neater option for hosting.
