Target Items We Love (WAY Less Than Pottery Barn!)

Looking to fluff your home but don't want to pay way too much? I was shopping for a few things for my new home recently and found 5 items I absolutely LOVE at Target that are priced so much lower than Pottery Barn (but with the same look and feel). Take a peek!

1. Storage Bins

These Rope Storage Bins are so cute – and start at just $8. Target has a TON of storage options for so much less than higher end stores – and the quality is still amazing!

2. Dishware

I'm obsessed with Target's dishes, especially the Threshold white dishware, and have used them at our house for at least 8 years. It matches everything, is super classic, and you can easily find coordinating pieces at Home Goods for just a few dollars. For whatever reason white makes food look more appetizing on your plate, and it never goes out of style.

Penny pinching tip? Choose colors and styles for your home that are pretty classic and you'll save a ton of money in the long run. You can always pop in extra color and style as trends come and go, but make your basic pieces clean ~ that's why I stick to my “5 things minimalist kitchen rule“!

I also love this Stoneware Initial Mug – and it's just $5! Pottery Barn usually sells these for around $8, but get the same look and feel for a few dollars less if you have a Target nearby. (Pottery does have a few patterns of their initial mugs on clearance right now for under $2. See if there are any available to ship to you in your hometown!)

3. Rugs

This Threshold Indoor Outdoor Rug is my new favorite ~ it's so soft and cozy on your feet, and is perfect at a backdoor or under your kitchen sink. The price is pretty reasonable, too!

4. Pillows

Target has tons of great pillow options, but these Chunky Knit Pillows are my current favorite! These similar Pottery Barn pillow covers only are priced at a whopping $79 for only one – YIKES. These are a steal at Target and feel amazing. (And the include the pillow insert too for way less money!)

5. Lamps

Target has tons of lamps to choose from, for as low as $10! This Mini Gold Stick Lamp is regularly priced at just $12 and is perfect if you have a small corner that needs a little extra light.

This Modern Gold Accent Lamp is great in a slightly larger space ~ I love that this one has a clear cord so it hides itself easily. I love this one so much and put it in my laundry room – it's beautiful!

And if you need a great reading light, this Industrial Brass Lamp below (currently sold out 🙁 ) is great if you need some extra lighting in a small space and easily tilts wherever you need it to go! A similar one at Pottery Barn costs $349 (um, YIKES!) so while this one felt a little pricey to me at $70, it's pretty much a steal!

It is so easy online to see all the things that people have from more expensive stores and feel like you need it all, but picking a few basic classic pieces at Target (and Walmart too!) can totally fluff your space without breaking the bank.
