Apply sunscreen the EASY way by using a makeup brush to apply sunscreen to kids. This makes it SO much easier – especially for the face!Â
How to Apply Sunscreen the EASY Way – Use a Makeup Brush!
Hey – come here. Closer. That's good. (I'm about to change your life.)Â This summer when you're getting your gaggle of kiddos ready for outside time, I have a Mom Hack for you that will save you SO much time and energy.
Use a makeup brush to apply sunscreen!Â
This is the EASY WAY to apply liquid sunscreen on your kids (and yourself!) and is so much easier on everyone!
I prefer to use liquid sunscreen like this one as opposed to spray cans (although I'll certainly use those in a pinch) because I like to make sure everyone is getting a thick, even coat of sunscreen and not inhaling anything.
I bought this set of foundation brushes on Amazon and love it. It has a few different sizes which has really come in handy! I use the largest one for bodies, medium for faces, and there is even a skinny one that I have found is perfect for getting heads and hair parts.
How to apply sunscreen with a makeup brush
For arms and legs, spread the sunscreen directly onto your kiddo's skin and then spread out and rub in with the brush. For faces and necks, I apply dabs of sunscreen to the brush and then onto their skin.
Tips for applying sunscreen
To avoid sunburns this summer, make sure to follow some basic sunscreen guidelines.
- Apply enough sunscreen. Experts say about one ounce of sunscreen is needed to cover exposed parts of the body (that's about the size of a plastic medicine cup).
- Watch the time. Apply sunscreen 15-30 minutes prior to going outside, and don't forget to reapply every 1-2 hours.
- Get forgotten spots. Don't miss spots that can be forgotten easily like underneath bathing suit straps, the part on your head, ears, and feet.
