This sesame pasta salad is fresh & flavorful, and so easy to toss together on a warm summer night!
Sesame Pasta Salad
One thing I love about our Summer Menu Plan is how many weeks we cook up a delicious protein earlier in the week and save some to add to a salad later. This Sesame Pasta Salad is no exception – we’ve already done the grilling so we’ve got juicy, yummy chicken to add in. Then, with just a little veggie-chopping you’ve got the most flavorful and refreshing pasta salad for a warm summer evening.
This dish is so versatile – make it as your main course for dinner, prep it ahead of time and take it to a BBQ, or divide it up into containers for a meal-prepped lunch you’ll actually look forward to eating!

How to make Sesame Pasta Salad
Start by preparing your linguine pasta according to package directions. Drain and rinse with cold water to bring down the temperature (this salad is served cold) and prevent it from sticking.
Meanwhile, cut the grilled chicken into small pieces and chop your veggies.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
Finally, to prepare the dressing, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, lemon juice, brown sugar, and garlic in a mason jar or small bowl.
Shake well or whisk to mix. Pour over pasta and toss to combine.
(Note: yesterday in our meal plan we made Honey Garlic Grilled Chicken and reserved 1/2 to keep for this recipe! For the chicken marinade, you’ll combine 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce, 1/2 cup honey, 4 cloves minced garlic. Pour over 4 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Marinate at least two hours and then grill chicken over medium heat, 5-7 minutes per side.)

Here’s what Grocery by PPP members are saying:
This was another recipe that took me by surprise. I love it! Now, caveat that to say that my kids wouldn’t eat it cold (as written), so I use the same ingredients, but sort of briefly sautée them in the skillet in avocado oil before adding them to the bowl. Then, I warm the chicken up the same way a little. I cook lo mein noodles separately, then, while they’re still warm, mix it all together in the skillet and serve it up! Really good (healthier version) chicken lo mein! – Madeline E.
Easy to make. Great summer meal. Love the cold salad especially during hot summer months. My husband loved the plain chicken. Very flavorful. – Mary S.
