You won’t believe this cheesy and saucy Turkey Pesto Lasagna is made in a slow cooker. If you have doubts about trying a lasagna in a crockpot, this recipe will change your mind!
Pesto Lasagna
This is one of my favorite recipes from our Slow Cooker Volume 2 Meal Planning Made Easy Set. AND it gets bonus points because I can make it in Mrs. Potts (aka my crockpot).
If I’m being honest, I really never knew that I liked pesto until my friend Cheree introduced us to the Pesto Tortellini Bake. It quickly became one of my family’s go to recipes as well as an all~time~fan~favorite to many of you who have purchased our Freezer Menu Box! So when she brought us this Turkey Pesto Lasagna I knew it was going to be a winner. 🙂
🍴This DELICIOUS Turkey Pesto Lasagna can be found in week 6 of our Slow Cooker Volume 2 Meal Planning Made Easy Set!
Pesto Lasagna Ingredients:
- ground turkey
- onion
- Italian seasoning
- garlic powder
- salt
- shredded mozzarella cheese
- ricotta cheese
- prepared pesto (if you have a homemade pesto you prefer this is a great recipe to use it)
- marinara sauce
- oven-ready lasagna noodles
- Parmesan cheese
How to Make Turkey Pesto Lasagna:
Y0u’ll want to start by using strips of aluminum foil to cover down the side, across the bottom, and up the other side of the slow cooker dish. The idea is to have these overlap so you can use them to remove the entire lasagna once cooked. Next, spray foil with cooking spray.
Then, cook ground turkey and onion in a large skillet until turkey is browned and crumbly; drain. Add Italian seasoning, garlic powder and salt.
In a small bowl, combine 1 cup mozzarella, ricotta and pesto.
To the prepared slow cooker, layer ⅓ marinara sauce, lasagna noodles (breaking to fit), turkey mixture and cheese mixture. Repeat this 2 more times then cover with remaining 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese.
Cover and cook on low 3-4 hours or until the noodles are tender. Turn off slow cooker and remove the crock. Let stand 30 minutes before serving. Use the foil strips to transfer the lasagna to a serving platter, if desired.
Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.
