This easy peanut butter pie with cool whip comes together in just a few minutes and is a true favorite. The Oreo crust lends a buttery taste that's SO good!
Peanut Butter Pie with Cool Whip – SO good and almost no bake!
I don't know about you, but the meals that people brought me when I came home from the hospital with each of my new babies were my favorite meals ever. (They were just such sweet gifts to our family on those busy days!) Even many (um, many!) years later, those still bring the happiest memories.
After our middle daughter Caroline was born, the Minister of Education at our church brought us this perfect peanut butter pie, and it's since become one of our all-time favorite desserts. It takes about 5 minutes to throw together, and is the perfect cool treat all year long.
If you know someone with a sweet tooth who loves peanut butter, whip this one up in a few minutes the next time you need an easy treat. To make it go smoothly be sure to thaw your whipped topping and let the butter soften on the counter for a few minutes prior to mixing it up~ you'll have this one done in no time!
Menu Tip! This delicious dessert is from week 3 of our Freezer Menu Planning Made Easy Set – it's got 72 different recipes as well as your weekly grocery list all in one spot.Â
What is peanut butter pie made of?

- butter
filling
- creamy peanut butter
- cream cheese
- powdered sugar
- whipped topping
How to make peanut butter pie with cool whip:
Gather up your ingredients and then preheat your oven to 350 degrees. You're going to want to first make your crust (which is the only part of this recipe that has baking involved – LOVE that!). This peanut butter pie with cool whip comes together so easily once the crust is done.
Crush your Oreo cookies into fine crumbs and then pour your melted butter over the crumbs. It's easiest to do this with a food processor, but any way to crush them will be fine. Stir with a fork to combine and then press into a pie plate pan. Bake for 5 – 7 minutes or until set.
Remove the chocolate pie crust from the oven and allow to cool completely. As the crust is cooling, you can start on your peanut butter pie filling.
Grab a large bowl, and beat together your peanut butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add in powdered sugar and continue beating until the entire peanut butter mixture is smooth.
To finish your easy peanut butter pie, add in the container of thawed whipped topping and beat until smooth (remember to scrape down the sides too!). Pour the filling into your cooled Oreo crust and smooth the top with a knife or spatula. Refrigerate at least an hour before serving.

If you'd like to make this easy peanut butter pie lower in fat, you can use a no fat or low-fat cream cheese. It may not be as firm a pie as the original recipe. I'm fine with that, but if you like a thicker peanut butter pie, you would definitely want to use the full fat versions.
If you want to give a try at using homemade whipped cream instead of the cool whip, we love this recipe! Just know that you may need to add a stabilizing agent to help give the whipped cream a bit more fullness.
