Orange Dream Ice Cream Ingredients
- Fresh oranges
- Unsweetened coconut cream (chilled)
- Honey
- Vanilla extract
How to Make Orange Dream Ice Cream
Before you begin – make sure to put your can of coconut cream in the fridge and chill overnight so it's nice and cold when you mix this up.
Start by lining two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside. Then, use a zester to yield 2 teaspoons of orange zest (trust me, this step is worth it and it smells great!).
Completely peel three large oranges making sure to get all the white parts and pulp off. Slice the oranges into round discs and remove any seeds you see. Place on the prepared baking sheets and freeze. You want the orange slices to be completely frozen so give them at least 4 hours in the freezer, or do this step in the evening and freeze overnight.
Once the oranges are frozen, add them to a high-speed blender along with the orange zest, chilled coconut cream, honey, and vanilla extract. Blend until completely smooth, scraping the sides as needed.
You can eat this immediately for a soft-serve texture or place in an airtight container and freeze to harden a bit before serving.
This orange dream ice cream can be kept in the freezer up to 2 weeks (if it even lasts that long! 🙂 )
