Remember the nostalgic McDonald’s Halloween Happy Meal pails that first started in the 1980s? Well they’re coming back!

McDonald’s Halloween Buckets 2026

Woohoo! The popular and nostalgic McDonald’s Halloween Happy Meal Buckets are returning and are rumored to be Disney Villain themed this year! They’re expected to be available starting October 20th and will feature Cruella de Vil, Jafar, Scar, Ursula, and Maleficent ~ each bucket will come with stickers inside.

These buckets are always so popular every year and so nostalgic! These are such a fun trip down memory lane – but I’m sure they’ll go fast like they did last year! Most times it is completely random what stores will have available, and they’re likely to go quick. McDonald’s hasn’t officially announced the buckets yet, so these details are subject to change.

A little history behind these buckets…

The Happy Meal Halloween Pails were first released in 1986 and featured all orange pumpkin-shaped buckets with different faces. Then in 1989, the buckets changed to an orange jack-o-lantern, green witch, and white ghost (like pictured above). Then in 1990, the buckets added some glow-in-the-dark flair to the designs, and the pails continued to change over the years until they stopped releasing them in 2016. 🙁 But now they’re back!
