Tired of clumpy lashes?
Hi – Mary here!
I recently came across this eyelash comb/rake on Amazon (I think it's officially called an Eyelashes Separator Tool 😂) and ummm…I can't believe that I haven't used one before. From toothpicks to spoolies and tweezers to Q-tips (the worst!), I've always just used whatever is closest to help separate my lashes.
I decided to give this thing a try since it is super affordable (under $6!) and has rave reviews ~ and it did not disappoint! I love that it easily separates my lashes after applying my favorite mascara without having to get Q-tip fuzzies in my eyes! 🙈 It is super easy to use and was actually pretty fun to use, too!
After applying my mascara, I just brush my lashes with the comb in an upward motion and it removes all of the excess clumps of mascara, giving them a polished look. It's also made of stainless steel so it can be washed after every use without having to worry about it rusting. (Plus, it comes with a protective cover, making easy to throw in your makeup bag or organizer without getting poked). Definitely worth it!

And, while we're on the topic of lashes, let's talk about mascaras! We all want big beautiful lashes, but there are soooo many options out there it's hard to know where to start. Here are the mascaras the PPP Team is loving for our lashes – and we'd really LOVE to hear your suggestions too!
Ha! I had to take photographic proof for my teen that I was able to do her mascara trick!
My daughter Caroline has recently been teaching me all the beauty tricks she's been learning and one of my favorites is the lashes! I've fallen in love with the L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara followed by L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes.
IT IS SO EASY! You take the Telescopic mascara – it's a skinny little tube, and do a real good job with that one. Then layer the Voluminous one on top of that. It takes like 3 seconds.
My daughter and I both use the Essence Lash Princess Mascara – it goes on wet and not at all flaky or clumpy – and it really makes our lashes really stand out! I have sensitive eyes and it doesn't irritate them (Plus the no flaking is a big plus).
Bonus points for it being under $5 on Amazon – I love a bargain!
I'm not very good at makeup in general – but recently I splurged and bought myself a couple nicer mascaras and I love them! I have hooded eyes (My eyelids flop over so any eyeshadow I use disappears!) so my lashes are pretty much all I got to work with. 😉
Benefit Roller Lash gives my lashes a nice curl and definition – and when I really want to va-va-voom them I use it first and follow up with Tarte Maneater – which is awesome for thickening my lashes – it has a big chubby brush that manages to grab and coat every lash well.
I love the L'Oreal Telesopic – TikTok made me buy it! It works really well and is very lightweight!
You can build it up without it getting spidery looking or clumpy. They also have a waterproof variety so that’s nice too! Plus – it’s not crazy expensive and you can find it just about anywhere (I think I grabbed it at Target)
Urban Decay Perversion and Stila Huge Extreme Lash are my two FAVORITE go-to mascaras. I used to be a CoverGirl LashBlast mascara girl, but a couple years ago a friend recommended that I try the Urban Decay mascara…and I completely FELL IN LOVE with it! It made my lashes super full and long and lasted way longer than a drugstore mascara.
Then I recently got the Stila mascara in a FabFitFun box and loved it just as well, although I still think my favorite is Urban Decay. The thing I love about both of these mascara is that they last FOREVER – wayyyy longer than my Covergirl did. Plus, I do not ever have issues with flaking or clumping like I’ve had with other brands – definitely worth it!
For long lashes?? I use this knock-off lash serum that’s similar to Latisse but costs way less. It takes about 6 weeks of daily applying it on the lash line before you’ll notice your lashes growing, but when they do – WOW, it’s nuts!! (TIP – make sure not to get it in your eyes or on the skin under your eyes).
And my daughter just started using this L'Oreal lash serum and so far she loves it!
I love Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara, it’s always on sale. I’ve tried just about all of them and that’s the one I keep returning to over the super expensive ones like Diorshow and Maneater.
Also, the I love this Tweezerman eyelash curler! It's pricier than some others out there but it works so much better (And I saw it on TikTok and was convinced). I’ve only been able to find it on Amazon.
I also think Telescopic is a dupe for Maneater from using them both. So if you don't want to pay $23 for Tarte Maneater – this is a great sub!
Now we'd LOVE to hear what your lash enhancing secrets are!!
