Did you know that you can use your hair dryer for things other than your hair…and they really work? Check out these hair dryer hacks!
Hair Dryer Hacks (for things other than your hair!)
Hi all – Mary here!
I recently saw a girl on TikTok using this crazy heated eyelash curler and I instantly had to go check it out! (While I didn't really notice a huge change in the gal's lashes, I was really curious!)
Unfortunately, when I clicked on the Amazon link and started reading the reviews, they really weren't that great. But I was mesmerized by the idea of an eyelash curler that lifts your lashes and makes them look amazing all day, so I started searching the web for “the best heated eyelash curlers.”
After reading several beauty articles and watching a bunch of YouTube videos, I just was disappointed and hesitant to fork out money for a product that may or may not work.
BUT, I started reading the comments on one YouTube video and saw the craziest eyelash curling hack (at least it seemed crazy to me?? 😲)… USING YOUR HAIRDRYER! Several people suggested blowing a hot hair dryer on a regular eyelash curler for 10-15 seconds and then curling your eyelashes.
I was like…what?? Why have I not heard this trick before in my 40 years of life??
#1 Hair Dryer Beauty Hack – Eyelash Curler!
So I HAD to give it a try…because first, it's FREE! And, if it really worked, it'd be one less gadget on my counter! (By the way, I recently mentioned this tip to the PPP team and apparently, this is a tip the high school dance team girls use to get super curled lashes?? WOW – who knew??!)
Well, I tried it…and it TOTALLY WORKED!
🔥🔥IMPORTANT TIP: You'll want to hold the eyelash curler on your cheek or wrist after blowing hot air on it so that it's not too hot and you don't burn your eyelids (it can get really hot!).
Here's an easy step-by-step on what to do:
1. Blow your hair dryer over your eyelash curler for 10-15 seconds (may need to adjust time, depending on how hot your hair dryer gets) – I love this eyelash curler!
*If you're in the market for a new hair dryer, this one is my FAVORITE! It's definitely a little pricey, but I've had it for almost 10 years and it is a beast!
2. Place it on your cheek to make sure it's warm but not too hot so you don't burn yourself (like pictured above 🙂 ).
3. Curl your eyelashes before putting on mascara.
4. Then, put on a coat of your favorite mascara (I use this one – works great!)
5. Let your mascara dry for a few minutes.
6. Get your eyelash curler warm once again but not too hot.
7. Give your lashes one last curl with the warm eyelash curler.
8. Enjoy – your lashes will stay lifted all day!
Have you tried this eyelash curling/lifting hack? I'd love to know!

#2. Hair Dryer Water Stain Hack
SO how else can you use a hairdryer…for something other than your hair?? A while ago, my kids left their ice water cups on our hardwood dining table and left those sad white rings on the wood. 🙁 I tried every sort of furniture product and nothing seemed to work. I was so bummed!
I tried vinegar and olive oil.
I tried a bunch of Guardsman products.
And I tried mayonnaise.
None of them worked.
But then I turned to YouTube and came across this person's video and thought…NO WAY! It seemed way too good to be true, but I figured why not?? I really had nothing to lose and just wanted to get rid of those ugly stains. So I turned to my my trusty (& favorite) hair dryer to see if it would.
…and it TOTALLY WORKED! (Watch my video above to see it in action!)
It took about 5-10 minutes with my HOT hair dryer for the stains to disappear. I had to hold it really close to the water mark and move it back and forth in a slow motion over the spot.
Within minutes, the stains completely disappeared!
Since then, I have tested this hack on our non-hardwood coffee table and it's worked there, too!
(Keep in mind that you'll want to test this at your own risk.)

#3. Don't have Goo Gone on hand? Easily remove labels (and the sticky residue!) from your new glassware, home decor, furniture, and other items by blowing a warm hair dryer over it until it peels up. The sticker should come right off, along with the glue!
#4. Get the wax off of your walls, table, or furniture by heating it up with a hair dryer and blotting it or wiping it away with a damp cloth. (I did this in college by getting RED melted candle wax off of my carpet! I've heard a hot iron works too??)

#5. Kate said – “Use your hairdryer as an iron on thinner fabrics. Works great a crepe fabrics without flattening out the “crunch” look of the fabric.”
#6. Stefanee said – “You can also use it to heat up your mascara that is starting to dry out. Helps you use more of it without having to add water or anything else people may add to thin it out, which can introduce bacteria into it. You can also run it under hot water if you don’t want to use or have a hair dryer!”
#7. Paula said – “When the edge of our vinyl pool liner comes out of the place under the coping, we just use a hair dryer to soften the vinyl and ease it back in it’s place. *We are super duper careful with hair dryer near water, obviously.”
#8. Lisa said – “You can use a hairdryer to blow up pools or intertubes! Cut a plastic water bottle leaving about 1/4 of it closest to the top. Hook the part you drink out of into where you blow up the pool or intertubes and the other side to the hair dryer…it blows up in seconds…amazing!” 🙂
#9. Susan said – “I used a hairdryer to clean gum off of the fabric part of a car seat. Not fun but it worked!”
