I made a super quick run to Kroger this week mostly for a few items after cleaning out my coupon folder, because I had a few high value coupons that were about to expire! I was super excited to stock up on Arm & Hammer detergent, and ended up spending $16 plus tax for over $33 in groceries. Here’s what I bought:

Arm & Hammer Detergent $2.99 (regularly $4.99)

  • Used $1/1 Arm & Hammer Blinkie, $1/1 Arm & Hammer Powder Laundry Detergent, exp. 6/30/13 (SS 04/28/13 R), or $1/3 Arm & Hammer Laundry Product
  • As low as $1.99 after coupon
Kroger Hand Sanitizer $1

Pampers Soft Pack Wipes $2.07

Malt O Meal Cereal $1

Wheat Thins or Triscuits $1

  • Used $1/1 Wheat Thins Tearpad,  $1/2 Triscuit Brown Rice and Wheat Crackers, exp. 5/24/13 (SS 04/14/13), or $1/2 Wheat Thins Kroger eCoupon (I happened to have found the $1/1 tearpad a few weeks ago)

Hey Laurie, do you ever have them not scan your Kroger card if you know you have an associated eQ? A few times, I have had paper Qs and eQs and i want to use the paper Qs, but I still want the discount on everything else (and the fuel points) by using my Kroger card. Do you have a good tip/solutions for times like that?

I ask because I see you used tearpad Qs for the Nabisco but there is also an eQ. So if you’d loaded the eQ but then found the tearpad, you wouldn’t be able to scan your Kroger card or the eQ would come off and you wouldn’t be able to use your tearpad Qs. Am I right? Am I overthinking this??

You’re exactly right, and it makes me nuts! I have gotten to where I never load the ecoupons, unless there’s a really good one (like when they offer the free ones.) The paper coupons double, so generally they’re just better!

I have been able to give them all my coupons before first (usually with a younger/more naive cashier), and then scan my card at the very end. It’s not that I want to “double” up on the coupons, I just want to use the manufacturer ones that I have first and that’s the only way I can figure out to make it work! It’s definitely frustrating, and I worry that Publix may end up with similar issues so I rarely load their ecoupons either 🙁
