There’s nothing quite like the cozy, comforting scents of autumn filling your home!
You don’t need expensive candles or air fresheners to get that classic fall fragrance. This easy fall simmer pot combines fresh apples, oranges, cinnamon, rosemary, cloves, and vanilla for a warm classic autumn orchard scent that feels like fall in a pot.
I especially love using the clean ingredients that I already have in my kitchen. It’s such a simple way to make your home smell warm, inviting, and ready for fall!

Ingredients:
- 1 red apple
- 1 orange
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- A handful of whole cloves
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- A sprinkle of nutmeg, optional
- Water
- Mini crockpot or small pot for the stove (the slow cooker I used is sold out, but here’s a similar one!)
How to Make a Fall Simmer Pot:
Note: I wanted to use my mini slow cooker for this recipe so I wouldn’t have to monitor it as closely as I would a pot on the stove.

Cut the apple and orange into slices or chunks. There’s no need to peel them, just wash them well and toss them right into your crockpot.

Add the cinnamon sticks, fresh rosemary, whole cloves, vanilla extract, and a sprinkle of nutmeg if you’re using it.

Cover all of the ingredients with water.

Set your crockpot to low and let everything slowly heat up and simmer. Once it starts simmering, you can adjust the temperature to warm and let it continue throughout the day.
(If you’re making this on the stove, bring everything to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low.)
That’s it! Just keep an eye on the water level and add more as needed so the ingredients stay covered.

We love how it’s warm without being overpowering and makes your whole home feel extra cozy. This fall simmer pot is one of those simple little things that makes a home feel special, especially on a crisp autumn day. Save this recipe for the next time you want your home to smell like fall!
