I am trying to do the scenario shops you work out. However, I am confused. In transaction #1, I am paying $6.98 out of pocket and collecting Register Rewards. For transaction #2, I use the Rewards from transaction 1 and pay an additional $.40 out of pocket. For transaction #3, I pay $.98 out of pocket, and collect more rewards which I apply towards transaction #4. I’ll pay $15.96 out of pocket for that one.
If I am paying $6.98, $.40, $.98, and $15.96 out of pocket (the total OOP) for the four transactions, how come your summary indicates “So you’ll pay just $14.32 for three packs of Huggies, Desitin, 5 Speedstick, 2 Colgate, 4 Edge Shave Gel and some Revlon hair color as well.”
Wouldn’t the actual out of pocket expense be the total of the OOP expenses for the four transactions – $23.32? Since that is how much cash you would need to pay.
