Costco Egg Recall
Be sure to check your eggs if you have bough any from Costco lately… Eggs that were recalled by Costco on Nov. 27th for salmonella concerns, have been upgraded the highest Class 1 Alert Level by the FDA. These eggs were sold between Nov 22 – Nov 27th and may still be in your fridge, with a use by date of Jan. 5.
The eggs in question are the Kirkland's Organic 24-Ct Eggs that were distributed across the South East. Here are the details from the ABC report:
Health officials identified the eggs as Handsome Brook Farms Kirkland brand of Signature Organic Pasture Raised 24-Count Eggs, which were distributed to Costco locations in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The cartons have a UPC code of 9661910680.
Consumers are advised to discard any recalled products listed below or return them to the store where purchased for a full refund. Salmonelle can cause stomach cramps, nausea, headache, diahhrea and more. (See here for full symptoms.) These symptoms can start anywhere between 6 hours and 6-7 days after consuming. They can last for 4-7 days.
