After I posted this I got to thinking . . . you could also turn these into Mushroom Smothered Grilled Chicken Burgers if you used the Garlic Chicken Marinade to grill your chicken with – oh my goodness, I think we're trying that this weekend along with more burgers!
I figure there's no way we can pass up a few free Burgers thanks to Earthfare this Labor Day weekend, so here's my favorite burger recipe! I posted this one back in May but they're so good that I'm ready to make them again!Â
I looked everywhere for a great easy recipe for a mushroom-onion-topped burger, and when I couldn't find one that used the ingredients from my pantry, I finally mixed this up myself. Those mushrooms and onions were so stinkin' yummy – after dinner I scraped the pan clean – they were SOOOOO good!
Here's what you'll need . . .

For the topping . . .
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup mushrooms White Mushrooms 16 oz. $2.69/lb.
1 large onion
1 tablespoon white vinegar $0.50/1 Heinz Vinegar or Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tablespoon worcestershire $.50/1 French’s Worcestershire or $1/1 Lea & Perrins Worcestershire
1/2 teaspoon beef boullion
Heat grill. Grill hamburgers as desired (we add salt, pepper, and garlic powder). While hamburgers are grilling, start to heat olive oil in skillet on stove. Add mushrooms and onions, then add white vinegar, worcestershire and beef bouillion. Cook until mushrooms are soft and onions are transparent (I probably had cooked them for about 15 minutes). Top hamburgers with cheese, then add onions and mushrooms. YUMMMM!
