UPDATE: AS OF MAY 2017 AMAZON HAS DROPPED THE PRICE ON FREE MINIMUM SHIPPING TO $25 ON MOST ITEMS ~ WOOHOOO! 🙂
I love Amazon, but never (ever!) want to pay shipping for my orders! And, since Amazon just bumped their “Free Super Saver Shipping” minimum up to $49 (it was $35), it's definitely worth coming up with ways to get free delivery.
Here are a few worth trying out:
1. Wait to order from Amazon until you have $49Â $25 worth of items to order. (Easy, right?)
The only problem here is that many of Amazon's “deals” go fast, so you may miss a good price on something you've been looking for if you wait too long.Â
So, if there are things you need to stock up on (think toilet paper, foundation, paper towels, books, etc.), add those to your “wish list”, then wait until an item goes on sale and add those to your cart. Easy way to get a great deal and take advantage of free shipping on other items you need anyways!
2. Subscribe and save.
All subscribe and save items (even those that are less than $49) offer free shipping.Â
This includes any “add-on” items that are available as subscribe and save items. Such a simple way to save on things that often drop below the Walmart price (and get some savings while shopping in your pjs or from your office!)
3. Share Amazon Prime with a neighbor.
If you have a neighbor who regularly orders from Amazon, consider getting a membership for just one neighbor and then splitting the prime membership costs between two people. Only the person on the account will get the added bonuses (free movie streaming, free monthly books, free iCloud photo storage, etc.) but you can both enjoy free shipping for a year for just half the price.
4. Share Amazon Prime Benefits with a family member.
If you have a family member who has Amazon Prime, you can have up to two adults on one account AND up to four kids on that account (however the kids can't make purchases.) If your parents or adult children have Amazon Prime, share it between two email addresses to both get free delivery!
5. Try Amazon Prime Free for a month.
6. Use Amazon Student.
Amazon Students get a free 6  month trial, plus a free $5 referral credit for each referral you bring! Once the free trial is over, Amazon Students can renew at a discounted rate – $49 instead of $99.
7. Don't forget that some items always ship for free at Amazon.
There are some items (typically those from overseas), that almost always ship free for Amazon, so look for the words “free shipping” next to the price as shown above. Typically it takes longer for these items to get here, but I've ordered several of them and gotten my orders without any issues.
UPDATE!!!!Â
#8. If you've been considering Amazon Prime, don't miss this!
Right now new users can try one month of Amazon Prime for just $10.99 and see what they think.Â
The best part?Â
You can get one month for free first, then pay $10.99 for the second month – so basically you get 2 months of Amazon Prime for just $10.99.
I love that!

So happy they dropped the free shipping minimum! Is it just for a limited time?
Hi Denise! I believe it’s long term ~ so excited about that too! 🙂
