United Airlines Introduces Relax Row
If you’ve dreamed of being able to stretch out and relax on a long flight – maybe even catch some zzz’s? – you might like this news! United Airlines has announced that they’ll begin rolling out beds in Economy, and they’re calling it the “Relax Row”. Starting in 2027, United will begin installing the “Relax Row” in over 200 Boeing wide-body planes. There will be up to 12 Relax Rows per plane, located between Economy and Premium Plus sections. How exactly does a Relax Row work?

Passengers can purchase a whole Relax Row for themselves, though the pricing is not yet clear. The row will have 3 coach seats with adjustable leg rests that flip up at a 90 degree angle to make a wide bed suitable for three people (Those people being two adults and a young child, or an adult and two young children, realistically.)
This is really similar to the Air New Zealand’s “Sky Couch”. United’s “Relax Row” will come with several special amenities to help make customers comfy:
- A custom filled mattress
- 2 Extra Pillows
- Plush Blanket
- Families get a stuffed toy and kids’ travel kit as well!
