Remember the jingle “I don't want to grow up, I'm a Toys“R”Us kid”? Well Toys”R”Us has partnered with Macy's to bring shop-in-shop experiences to over 400 retail stores in 2022.
Toys”R”Us is back??
The Chief Merchandising officer of Macy's said – “Our toy business grew exponentially for Macy’s in the past year. Our partnership allows Macy’s to significantly expand our footprint in that category.”
And the Chairman & CEO of WHP Global & Toys“R”Us, said, “Our partnership with Macy’s marks the greatly anticipated return of Toys”R”Us in the U.S.A., and changes the retail landscape by combining two beloved retail brands together for consumers across the nation in a completely innovative way. We’re thrilled to be launching this new partnership together with Macy’s.”
In addition to being available online, Toys”R”Us shop-in-shops will roll out to more than 400 Macy’s stores nationwide in 2022, where customers will be welcomed by the beloved Geoffrey the Giraffe. They'll then be able to discover and play across dedicated sections by age, interest, and category, with interactive experiences, activation centers, and iconic elements throughout.
What about the original ToysRUs? Well, the ToysRUs.com website is still around but is now be powered by Macy's (it was formerly run by Target which ended in July 2020). The website includes highly immersive and engaging content that connects consumers to the toy offerings at Macys.com.
