How to make Southern-Style Green Beans in the Crockpot
Start by dicing 8 slices of bacon and cooking in a skillet on medium heat until bacon is crispy. Add diced yellow onion, and cook until onion is translucent.
Rinse and trim the ends off of two pounds of fresh green beans. Lightly spray your slow cooker with cooking spray and add green beans. Stir in the bacon mixture and diced potatoes. Add two low-sodium chicken broth and salt & pepper to taste.
Cover and cook and low 6 hours.
P.S. I made this at the same time I made the Creamed Corn using these Slow Cooker Dividers. They are SO handy for making multiple foods at once (I was making them out of foil before 😉 ) or for keeping many things warm in the crockpot!
