Slow Cooker Chicken Alfredo – Super Quick and Easy!
Okie dokie folks. This is the easiest-ever-don't-even-think-about-it-meal-when-you-just-really-need-dinner-tonight.
Nothing fancy.
Just emergency food. 😉
In case you're like me and occasionally have those days too.
A few years ago on a Monday (yes, Cyber Monday would be the one), I came down with the all out worst stomach bug I have ever had in my life.
We're talking, so bad my husband stayed home to keep our kids.
That bad.
(Since my kids were off school due to break, he figured he'd better stay home to make sure I didn't die under their watch. I think he was really afraid that might happen.) Thankfully I had a few helpers here to keep up deal hunting a bit, and I posted deals as I could from my laptop in bed.
It wasn't pretty.
But then Tuesday came, and though thankfully I felt oh-so-much-better, by lunchtime I realized my family would be expecting a meal for dinner that night.
I took a look around my pantry, freezer and fridge, noticed I happened to have my emergency-chicken-alfredo-staples on hand, and pulled out Mrs. Potts. (After of course scrubbing an extra time or two because the last thing I wanted was to pass on any germs around here!)
Mrs. Potts (again) saved the day. Dinner was served, and my family all loved it. Delicious Slow Cooker Chicken Alfredo without a ton of work. So, if you have one of those oh-my-goodness-what-on-earth-do-I-feed-these-people-for-dinner-again-kind-of-days, this little recipe right here is for you.
You're welcome. 😉

Could I use something else instead of the Italian seasoning
Brooke says
Absolutely! You can use basil or oregano! Hope this helps!
Bridget says
I don’t have cream of chicken soup. Will cream of celery or cream of mushroom work? If so, which will work better?
Laurie says
You should be able to substitute either one Bridget ~ if you like the flavor of one over the other, I’d go with whichever you prefer best! 🙂
Andrea says
Do you have the nutrition information and what a serving size is? Having this tonight for dinner.
Laurie says
Sadly we don’t have the nutrition info on this recipe Andrea, but hope you enjoy! 🙂
Jennifer Stine says
Just made this last night and we love it!❤️ Thanks for sharing.
Laurie says
Yayy ~ so happy to hear you loved it Jennifer! 🙂
Karyn says
If I make my own Italian dressing mix, how much do I use in this recipe?
Laurie says
One packet has about 2 tablespoons of mix Karyn, so if you make your own, use 2 tablespoons ~ hope that helps! 🙂
Kirsten says
Can I use frozen chicken and put in the crockpot?
Laurie says
Frozen chicken should work just fine Kirsten! 🙂
Danielle says
To boost the flavor, try using Chive and Onion Cream Cheese. Delicious!!
Laurie says
Thanks so much for the tip Danielle! 🙂
Jennifer Sbarra says
Any idea what the cooking time would be for airfryer???
Raechel says
So yummy. Even my picky eater loved it.
Sharon Hunter says
This can be done in the Instant Pot, also, can’t it? If so, can someone, please, provide directions or suggestions for doing so?
Rebeka Webb says
Will leftovers of this freeze well? I try to make big batch and freeze for the next month on bust nighy.
Kristen ~ PPP Team says
Hi Rebeka, I’m pretty sure you could as long as your chicken was fresh before you made the meal and wasn’t already frozen! Give it a try and let us know how it goes! 🙂
wendi says
Do you cook the chicken breast first?
Laurie says
Nope Wendi – it cooks in the crockpot!
Barb says
Hi! How many people will this feed?
Laurie says
Easily 4-6 Barb – our family of 5 with 3 picky kids always has plenty with leftovers, hope that helps!
Barb says
Thanks!
Linda Thornton says
Hope u are feeling back to normal and all is well! Thanks for the recipe! Made and hubby very much approved! 😀
Laurie says
Definitely feeling much better. So glad you all liked it! 🙂
TW says
Sounds delicious. I want to try this very soon. If I make my own Italian Seasoning mix from the recipe you linked to, how much would I use to equal the store-bought packet?
Laurie says
Hi TW! I always struggle with that – I would say maybe 2 tablespoons would be about the same size? I think it’s pretty forgiving, so hopefully it will work for you!
Jennifer B. says
So sorry you were so very ill! Glad you are on the mend. What a nice husband you have!
I’m really glad you didn’t call this recipe “Alfredo” before, because I probably wouldn’t have tried it. My husband doesn’t care for Alfredo recipes, but we’ve had this several times since I discovered the recipe here. It is easy and delicious.
Laurie says
It doesn’t taste all that alfredo-ish – I agree Jennifer! But such a simple easy meal. I think I’ve heard it called chicken stroganoff before too!
And definitely so thankful for a sweet husband who took care of me this week! 🙂
