There are some great deals this week at Rite Aid, and I wanted to make sure you didn't miss them! This was my first time in the last several years to really take on Rite Aid, but since I had a $25 Gift Card from a recent prescription transfer, I decided to try it out.  If you can handle watching the Video Values commercials (I know, it requires a little patience!), you'll get some AMAZING deal this week. So, here goes (beware, their “UP Reward” and “Single Check Rebates” can get a little confusing – but it all worked for me!)

1 Crest Toothpaste or Oral B Tooth Brush (On Sale $2.49)

Use . . . (bare with me!)
$5/$25 Rite Aid Video Values coupon or $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon at Red Plum (I couldn't find it at my zip code , but some people say they have found it – I'd love to hear if you do because those videos are a little time-consuming!)

$1/1 Tide Laundry Detergent 8/1/2010 PG Insert (exp 8/31/2010)
Pay $12.22 plus tax out of pocket, but here's where it gets good . . .
Receive . . .
- $2 in Up Rewards for Pampers
- $2 in Up Rewards for Herbal Essences
- $1 in Up Rewards for Tide
- $1.50 in UP Rewards for Crest or Oral B
- PLUS a $2 Single Check Rebate (can submit online) for the Pampers!
So after everything (coupons, UP Rewards and rebates), you get all those deals for a whopping $3.72!!!! That's just CRAZY!!!Â
I had never used the Rite Aid UP Program before, so here's what I learned:
- You have to have an UP card to participate (this took just a few minutes to get as I checked out)
- You receive UP rewards to use on your next purchase (very similar to CVS Extra Care Bucks)
- It looks to me like the UP rewards expire in 3 weeks (they all expire 8/21/10 for me)
- You will only receive ONE UP REWARD per card unless otherwise stated in the ad (I thought I could do the Crest AND Oral B, but they were both the same “UP” reward)
- You may use more than one UP reward at a time towards your next purchase
- Some items (like the Pampers) offer both a Single Check Rebate AND UP reward (they love to make things crazy for us couponers, don't they?)
- Complete your Single Check Rebate HERE, and they send you a check at the end of the month. It is a regular check, so it does not have to be used at Rite Aid (but it would be a great way to roll your money!) This literally took me less than 2 minutes to complete with my receipt in hand.
After trying this out, it seemed very similar to CVS Extra Care Program, so if you've figured that one out this should be a breeze! It's always a little intimidating to try out a new store, but for this deal I think it's definitely worth it. Have any of you had success at Rite Aid? Please leave a comment to share!

LOL!! NEVERMIND;) I was getting excited!!
Which Rite Aid are you shopping that will let you use expired coupons? I have had the experience of them letting them slide if it were a day or two, but never a month. Thanks!
Oh Andie I’m so sorry! I was worried that might throw someone off . . . SORRY!!! 🙂
I’m a regular Rite Aid shopper, the other week before I had knee surgery, I wanted to make sure I got in there to use my coupons. I purchased 27 items for a total of $58 something, I paid them a little under $10 out of pocket, it printed me off $15.50 in UPS rewards and I had a $2 SCR to submit. I was joking with the cashier that I hoped I would be walking soon enough to use my UPS before they expired or my husband would have a great time ‘blowing them” on the clearance stuff. I turned around to find him standing there with a $100 video camera in his hand marked 75% off. He said you know we were looking for this for one of the kids…new grandbaby, would be a great Christmas present. We used my UPS rewards right then and paid around $10 OOP for an originally priced $100 video camera. I love Rite Aid.
Most of the Video Values are only 30 seconds, some maybe a minute and a half, but in around a half hour you can get your 20 watched and I have saved a bunch stacking those coupons, especially the makeup ones. Been buying lots of Christmas gifts with those coupons.
FYI – SCRs (Single Check Rebates) can only be used ONE TIME per rebate period. I saw someone mention doing this two days in a row and not getting the UPR (UP Reward), but you will also only get one SCR for the Pampers for August. Also, you can only submit the SCR once per month. If you submit now for the Pampers, you cannot submit later this month for anything else. You would need to hold onto your receipts and input the SCR at the end of the August SCR period.
And prices do vary regionally. Our prices here are higher, but I also noticed a couple of our coupons were higher or in the case of the Herbal Essence/Aussie, it was B1G1 rather than B2G1. Interesting to see the differences.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I will use ALL of these products, and this is just a FANTASTIC scenario!!! I can’t wait to go shopping on Friday…just hope they’re not sold out! 🙂
I did this deal tonight and had no problems! I had $2 in UP rewards to use toward the final cost, so I spent only $8.98 total. (My HE coupon was BOGO, not B2G1, so that helped bring the cost down a little, and I also bought the Tide Stain Release tablets and used the $3/1 coupon instead of the $1/1!) So $8.98 – $6.50 UP Rewards – $2 SCR = $0.48 for everything! Hooray!
WOOHOO for you Beth!
My RA wouldn’t allow me to use multiple UPR on my next purchase. Is this normal?
So if I buy diapers today with my coupon, UP reward and rebate – then I go and buy some tomorrow I will only be able to use the coupon and the single check rebate? I will no longer be eligible for the $2 UP since I’ve gotten it once. Is that right? Sorry. new to this too..thx
KTR – I looked for more info on this, and am only finding conflicting information. The way I understand it you are only allowed one per card (according to the ad), however several of the sites I checked say that the UP rewards are printing on the second item purchased. If I were you I’d plan to do the deal, ask your cashier, and if it doesn’t print (and you really don’t want to lose the $2), politely return the diapers. I looked everywhere for the Rite Aid official policy but couldn’t find it.
Colleen – my Rite Aid allowed two UP rewards without any problem, but other people have said that they had the same experience in their stores. I guess it’s up to the management!
I did see that several sites said only one UP reward would print per one transaction, but all of my UP rewards printed on my first transaction. I wish I knew more to help you all and when I have a little more time I’ll try to figure Rite Aid out better! (I’m thinking they’re trying to figure it out themselves too!)
I did the scenario and paid $14.57 OOP. Got back $8.50 in UP rewards and SCRs. So I really paid about $6 all together. I’d say that’s a REALLY good deal. Especially since the diapers alone cost more than that. Honestly, I’d be happy to pay the OOP price for all that stuff. My hubby will be happy! 🙂
Great job Leah!
My cousin recommended this blog and she was totally right keep up the fantastic work!
This is great! I can’t wait to try it out. Thanks so much for sharing! 🙂 I do have a question, though. My coupon in KY is a BOGO HE or Aussie, not B2G0. So I shouldn’t need to buy two, right?
Beth – Yes – you can just buy one! You could actually even get four total if you have two B1G1 coupons – that would make them 4 for $2 after coupons and UP Rewards. WOOHOO for you!
I’d like to stock up on Pampers diapers and wipes with this deal + use the $5 off/$25 purchase coupon. So my question is can I pick up $25 worth of diapers and wipes, first use the $5 off coupon and then use the Pampers coupons? Since the wipes are free, I was just wondering how that will work when going towards the $25 total I need to spend.
Thanks for posting this!
Hey Tracey! Yes – be sure to use your $5/$25 FIRST and then the other coupons – that way you start at over $25. Good luck!
Also, the pampers wipes are buy one get one 50%, so you can get a second tub of wipes for $1.65
I didn’t see that in my ad or at my store but someone else found the same thing! If your store’s offering it that makes it even better – thanks Danielle!
My ad has the Tide for $5.99 & get a $1 +UP reward. Also, my coupon that came in 8/1 PG for the Herbal Essence/Aussie is for Buy ONE product get ONE styler free. I thought all PG inserts were the same? Good deals regardless- thanks for the scenario!
Hey Danielle – I should have kept reading – I guess the ads are different, and I thought we’d get the $1/1 in our PG also but we got the B2G1 – I really think they’re out to make us nuts! 🙂 But the prices look like they do vary a little by area – at least you’ll get extra wipes!
Also, why if you’re buying 3 herbal essences, would you not just buy 4, using another coupon from P&G?
Esther – the coupon in my paper actually stated “Buy 2 Herbal Essence Shampoos or Conditioners get 1 FREE Herbal Essence Styling Product”, but in the coupon database it showed up as B1G1. If your paper got B1G1 that would be even better!
I’ve been LOVING Rite-Aid too lately! I want to know why you are buying 3 Herbal Essence products. Is that just because you want to or is it for a particular deal?
Hey Esther! There’s a coupon in Sunday’s Red Plum for Buy 2 Herbal Essence Shampoos or Conditioners, get a styling product free. So I’m only using it to up my bill and get a freebie!
the zip you can use for the coupon is 92359 that is where i got my from it is on the last page i believe.
Thanks for putting this together! It worked out great for me except for some reason my Herbal Essences were $2.50 and not $2.00. Oh well.
So I have been collecting coupons for 3 -5 weeks. I had all these coupons pilled up waiting to use them but kinda of overwhelmed by the crazy terms and store differences. Today I needed to buy diapers and if I ran down the street I would spend 11-12 dollars on off brand diapers which come with like 50-60 diapers in the package. Well I took the plunge and I am on cloud nine 64.32 in merchandise got my wellness card then 32 and change then with some up rewards used from first purchase and my coupons I spent 16 OOP and get 3 up reward still and the SCR pampers check. I also didn’t print the 5/25 coupon (no printer) so 2 packages of diapers, two tubs of wipes, Aussie mousse, hair spray, conditionor, shampoo, and herbal essense shampoo and conditioner cost me 16 OOP tomorrow I am going back and using the 3 up rewards for more diapers an wipes that trip will cost me 3.20 when I get home. I am excited. Also my up rewards printed two pamper 2 up reward money but I bought them on seperate checks don’t know if that matters but I was thrilled thanks for the ideas!!
Awesome job Charis! I’m not sure if the UP Rewards will print again when you grab them tomorrow (I think it’s one per card), but you’ll still get the wipes and diapers for a fabulous price – I’m so glad it worked out for you!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Rite Aid! The dental stuff add up to a gift card too. But you must enter ALL your receipts for the them to tally and you must use your wellness card. I just received my $25 gift card for the Skin purchases last month.
Elizabeth, if your Rite Aid refuses you to use all your UP rewards at one go, you might want to call Customer Service (after you speak to the manager) The UP rewards thibng is new and some associates are not sure. Some associates let you do several transactions at one so that you roll your up rewards immediately. LOVE LOVE Rite Aid
Are these prices from the national ad? The Herbal Essence are on sale 2/5.00 and the Tide is on sale for 5.99 per the ad for KY. So the OOP would be more like 14.72 with a total spent of 5.22 after rebate and UPR. Or are these prices regional?
Hey Kristi – I got the prices from my ad in Alabama – so it’s possible that your deals are a little different! (We’re actually from KY and usually prices are higher here than KY – especially on milk! Sorry if that was misleading though!)
rite aid Q is zip 95677(50 mile radius) Just printed two of them about 30 min. ago Red Plum
You might want to check with you store about more than one UP rewards on your next purchase. All the stores in my area will accept only 1 UP reward coupon per transaction and this is also what I have read on other blogs about their policy. It can get a little tricky to use all of your UP rewards in that case.
Thanks Elizabeth – I asked the cashier at my store and he said they do take more than one on the next purchase, and they accepted several without any problem when I used a few of them last night to also grab some milk. But, different stores definitely can have different polices, so thank you for the info!
Thank you so much for posting this scenario..it’s sometimes difficult to get a handle on all the good deals out there!
Oh – now I see! I was reading too fast and missed the “WYB”! Thanks for explaining that!
Sorry….these lists can get overwhelming when you read more than one. But you did a great job explaining it!
That’s okay Jill – I had to re-read it twice to make sure I had it right – it’s a lot to take in!
Also, none of your items require Video Values this week, but the VVQs are stackable with MQs and in-ad Qs (when all 3 are available) plus any possible SCRs or UPs for up to a 5 level stack!!!!
Even better on your wellness card – once you reach 1000 points (you get 1 pt / $1 spent, post RAQ, pre-MQ) you will get 20% off everything in the store everyday!!!!! I was lucky enough to be given my card at this level when the program first rolled out. Combining all of their programs and stackable Qs I’ve decided that if they sell it at Rite Aid I won’t buy it anywhere else!
Note: it may be a regional thing but my ad has the hair care at 2/$5 which is $2.50 each and the Tide at $5.99, but the tide includes their 18 ct stain remover drop ins – and there was a $3 MQ in the 8/01 P&G for that one!
I did my first Rite Aid deal last week!
I bought 4 Nivea men’s bodywash ($1.99ea) used 2- $4.00 off 2 nivea products coupons, got them all for free and got $4 back in UP rewards! It was awesome!
Thanks for the step by step. I’m pretty new to this and I appreciate the help.
If the coupon is for B1G1 free pampers wipes, wouldn’t you need to buy 2 of those? Or am I missing something?
(I just had my first visit to Rite Aid last week, so I’m trying to figure it out, too….)
Hey Jill! Sorry I didn’t explain this one better – it’s Buy One Pampers Diapers get FREE Diaper Wipes. Hope that clears it up!
I have been LOVING RiteAid lately! Thanks for putting this together!
Wow. What a scenario. Thank you very much for sharing.
