Protein Ice Cream Recipes To Try Using your Ninja Creami!
Have you tried a Ninja Creami for making your protein ice creams? Several of our team members use theirs to make protein ice cream ALL THE TIME, and we’ve come up with 99 Fun Ninja Creami Ice Cream Flavor Combinations for you to try!
Using your Creami to make ice cream is really super simple, and it’s a great way to get some extra protein in with a sweet treat. There are quite a few ways to make your ice cream, depending on what your macro goals are you can go SUPER heavy on the protein (using cottage cheese AND protein) or add lots of fresh fruits to up your carbs. You can also include mix-ins of oreos, chocolate chips, cookies, pretzels, and more!
Here’s where it gets fun and you can customize ALL of your flavors!
It might seem a bit overwhelming, but remember that you REALLY just need 3 items to get started. (4 if you want mix-ins for your protein ice cream).
- Pick your base
- Grab a Stabilizer
- Add your flavors
- Grab your Creami and go (if you don't have a Creami, there are a few options you can use listed below!)
Here's a EASY, BASIC Protein Ice Cream Recipe to start with!
Protein Ice Cream Recipe (Vanilla Cheesecake Flavor)
Ingredients
- 10 - 12 oz Protein Shake Any flavor - vanilla is a great base!
- 1 Tbsp Jell-O Pudding Mix Regular or Sugar Free - your preference!
Instructions
- Add your protein shake and 1 TBSP ofJell-O pudding mix into your Ninja Creami container
- Mix the protein shake and the pudding mix VERY WELL right in the container (you can use a milk frother or a spoon - the milk frother makes it blend best)
- Freeze for 24 hours
- Take out of the freezer and spin on lite ice cream in your Ninja Creami. If a little powdery, add a wee bit of milk and push re-spin. Then add any mix-ins you'd like (Oreos, graham crackers, chocolate chips - endless possibilities!)
How to make Protein Ice Cream with a Ninja Creami:
***Note – for BEST results, I have found that if I let my ice cream container sit out on the counter for about 10 – 15 minutes the consistency of my protein ice cream is better. Some also will sit it in an water bath for a few minutes.***
- Grab your Ninja Creami ice cream containers – I like to go ahead and do multiples at a time so if I get the hankering for ice cream I don’t have to wait 🙂
- Add your base, stabilizer, and flavors and mix right into the Creami container. If you have a milk frother or an immersion blender these work super well here.
- Place a lid on your ice cream and freeze for at least 24 hours.
- Once 24 hours (or as long as you can wait!) is past, grab your container out of the freezer.
- Place the ice cream container on your Ninja Creami and lock it in. You’ll want to spin on “LITE” for our protein ice cream recipes. Once it’s done spinning, check the consistency. You may need to add a wee bit more milk (or whatever liquid base you’re using) to help it be the texture you want.
- If you need to add more liquid, add a bit to the hole that has formed in the center, place the lid back on, lock it into the Creami, and re-spin.
- Once that’s finished, if you’re adding in mix-ins, make a small hole in the center of your ice cream and add in your mix-ins. Place the lid back on, lock in the Creami, and then hit the Mix-Ins button.
- Then enjoy your delicious protein ice cream!
**Note that the majority of these recipes have about 20 – 25 grams of protein and around 200 calories. Your exact measurements, brands used, and mix-ins will determine the exact amount for you 🙂 **

Flavorings / Sweetener to Choose From:
How much you add is based on taste preference – start with a small amount (especially for extracts – I'd use 1/8 tsp of those to start!). For items like sugar, peanut butter, sugars – you can start at 1 Tbsp since they're usually what is providing most of the flavor 🙂
- Flavored Syrups
- Fruits – Fresh, Frozen, or Canned
- Monk Fruit
- Splenda
- Stevia
- Sugar
- Peanut Butter
- Peanut Butter Powder
- Cocoa Powder
- Extracts – Vanilla, Almond, Cake Batter

Why is my Ninja Creami ice cream not creamy?
If you spin your Creami recipe one time and find that it’s not as creamy as you would like it, go ahead and re-spin it one more time. (I’ve even spun three times before with no issues!).
I also find that if you let your vessel sit out for about 5 or 10 minutes before spinning initially, this helps.
If you’ve re-spun twice and still don’t have the desired consistency, try adding a tbsp or two of milk or protein shake of your choice.
