Overhead Garage Storage & Organization
If you use the Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planner and have looked ahead at all, you may have noticed that during the week of 10/27 – 11/2 , the weekly home project will be to organize the garage.

If you're like me, that task can feel O-V-E-R-W-H-E-L-M-I-N-G…which is why I'm starting early this year!
My husband and I have avoided organizing the garage as it has become the place for all the things that don't have a home. Extra parts from building furniture? Throw it in the garage. Kids scooters from years ago? Throw it in the garage. Random coolers, yard decorations, holiday decor, & gardening gadgets? Throw it in the garage.
To get a head start this year, we've determined that WE ARE GOING to get the garage cleaned up and decluttered over the next few weeks … after 12 years of piling up. I think we can do it! 🙂
We plan to throw a lot of things away (umm, that 12 year old paint is probably not good anymore…), donate or sell what we don't use, and reorganize the space. But we also wanted to make the garage more user-friendly for my hubby who uses it the most. How are we planning to do that? I'm so glad you asked!
Garage Overhead Storage
We recently saw one of these overhead storage systems at a friend's house and decided it was perfect for our garage organization project. Why hadn't we thought of this years ago??
SO, we hopped onto the Lowe's website and bought this Everest Adjustable Height Overhead Garage Storage System to create more space for the items we use often. (TIP: it's even on sale right now for $70 OFF!). Our goal is to move items up there that take up space on the floor, but that we don't use regularly.
If you're like me and overwhelmed with this task or don't have time for a huge garage overhaul – don't worry!

Start small!
Take baby steps!
If you can spend a few minutes throwing trash away, sweeping out the garage, and organizing a few things – it will be so worth it … and likely a lot better off than it was before! 🙂
We're tackling our garage project every weekend from now until the end of October – my goal is to be all decluttered & organized by Halloween. (I'm all about checking off that box in my Home Planner!).
