Today in the More Money in March Challenge we’re talking about something I love most of all when it comes to easily saving money : deciding a few simple menus that work for your family each week!

While we typically have a menu plan each week (I use my favorite meal plans from Eat at Home Cooks), I always keep items for these pantry staples on hand so that in a pinch I can quickly make a dinner I know my family likes on busy weeknights to avoid the drive through.

Now, these aren’t fancy meals (and definitely not the very healthiest options . . . ) but they always beat the drive thru and they’re E.A.S.Y.

So here’s my challenge for you today if you don’t do this already:

make a list of 7 meals your family likes (preferably with ingredients that are always easy to have on hand)
make a grocery list for the items on the list
when you’re grocery shopping, keep these items in mind so that if you see a good price on any of those products you can easily pick them up for a steal!

Here are my family’s top 7:

1 – chicken and dumplings, green beans

2 – grilled chicken using Easy Chicken Marinade, baked potatoes, salad

3 – spaghetti, homemade bread, salad

4 – tacos

5 –Italian beef

6 – breakfast for dinner

7 – frozen pizza
