DIY Mini Bouquets

If you’re looking for a unique, thoughtful DIY gift for Mother’s Day, Teacher Appreciation, or someone’s birthday, these adorable mini bouquets are perfect!

These cute bundles are made of a few small items wrapped up together to mimic a bouquet of flowers. The end result is so sweet and the gift recipient will feel so special. Whether you grab their favorite items or a few of your own, this gift is from the heart and there are so many options of what to include.

Note: I was a little intimidated by folding up the paper correctly but was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was once I got the hang of it! I’m going to explain exactly how to fold it for you, too!

Supplies:

To make these cute bouquets, you’ll need just a few craft items and a handful of “flowers”.

  • Brown craft paper
  • Wooden dowel sticks – I grabbed these in the wood craft aisle at Walmart
  • Scotch tape
  • Ribbon
  • A variety of small, mostly light-weight items – I chose a few travel sized toiletry and self care items, candy, and my favorite electrolyte powder packets. I was looking for things that were useful, fun, and also had cute packaging since they’re displayed in the bouquet.

How to make a Mini Bouquet Gift

Start by cutting the craft paper into a square-ish. Mine ended up being roughly 15″x15″ but you can make them smaller or larger depending on how many items you have. It doesn’t have to be exact – I didn’t measure! Set the paper aside.

Next, tape the wooden dowels to each “flower”. I considered using hot glue for this part but decided on tape because it was easier and I’m glad I did! The tape held up just fine since all of the items are pretty light.

Lay the paper square on a flat surface and fold the bottom left corner up. Then, start placing the sticks around in the general shape you want your bouquet. You can adjust later as needed. Make sure the end of the dowels stay on the paper. The top right corner of the paper will end up being the center/backside of your bouquet.

Once all your sticks are laid out, take the bottom right corner of the paper and fold it over the sticks. If you have extra paper you can just fold it so that it overlaps. Make a crease and hold. Then, take the remaining paper from the left side and pull it over the front of the bouquet, wrapping all the way around the back. On the back side, you’ll make a fold so that the paper doesn’t come out the other side. Secure the paper in the back with a piece of tape.

Use the ribbon the wrap around the bouquet as a finishing touch. You can make any adjustments to the placement of your items now. I also added a few live flowers in for an extra touch.

I just love how these bouquets turned out! I am going to gif them to my “mom friends” for Mother’s Day. But, these bouquets are so versatile they can really be for anyone!

You can change up the items to fit the recipients tastes. If they’re not interested in the beauty products, you could do all candy or treats. Or, make a theme: all make up items, all one color, rainbow, office supplies – get creative with it!
