Update: MORE MONEY MARCH STARTS TOMORROW: learn how to save money and all the details HERE!Â
I am determined to keep up with these weekly updated blog posts in 2020, but goodness, just like you, my days have gone so crazy fast that I can barely keep up! I can never figure out why ~ until I hop in to my photos from the last week and see my pics on my phone. Goodness. Life just doesn't slow down (but I wouldn't trade it for a thing!)
I totally missed the week 6 update, so I'm just going to stuff all the pics in here and you can see a peek at the madness over at our house (and out of our house.) If you feel overwhelmed by all there is to do you are not alone, but maybe some of these tiny home wins will help encourage you too.
Here goes, fast and furious because I've been sitting at my computer since 6AM this morning and promise my family I'd hop off pretty soon. 🙂Â
Before and after of my junk drawer for the week 7 Home Planning Challenge . . .
So. Much. Better.
During that week I also tried on this fun jacket from Kohl's thanks to a little motivation from my friend Jamie,Â
made the best ever cinnamon rolls for my sweet seventeen year old's birthday,Â
Left her, my hubby and our youngest to fend for themselves while I was in Dallas for a few days for a conference (bless these folks ~ no veggies got eaten while I was gone!)
Them James met up with me in Dallas and we took a day trip to Waco to see Magnolia.
Bless that man.Â
It was nuts, but we had so much fun (I promise to share more pics shortly here too.)
It was his birthday ~ he got a cupcake. 🙂
And spoiled me just a wee bit too.
Once we got back home I was determined to do better on my home (I really do love being a homemaker most!) and caught back up on all my checklists after the next few days.Â
We ate dinner at home (I used week 2 of the slow cooker menu planning system – I think that's one of my favorite weeks), I started a new challenge to eat 1 – 2 cups of fruits and veggies per meal, and goodness, feel so much better to get healthier habits under way as I'm dreaming of Spring around here.
But my biggest home accomplishment this week?
This closet.
Week 8 of the Home Planner Checklist is to tackle your linen closet, and even though I really do mine regularly, I rarely take time to do a full deep clean. (And my excuse has been that my kids build tents with the sheets – they still do that at twelve which I love, but it makes it a lot to keep up with!)
Thankfully though, I have a friend who lives nearby and comes over one day a week to help me keep my act together (running Passionate Penny Pincher along with being a mom and running a home is just too much for any one person most days!), so having her come over this week to tackle my linen closet with me was amazing.Â
She helped me decide how much I needed (2-ish sets of sheets per bed), get rid of what I needed, and bless her, she knows how to fold a fitted sheet.
I am the luckiest. 🙂 🙂 🙂Â
Thursday we finally woke up to snow (we've hardly had any snow all year!), and my girls and I had the happiest snow day finally. I work at a local co-working space, so they drove with me there and painted pottery while I worked, then we had walked to lunch and went out for chocolate lunch before I worked for a little longer while they finished up some homework. (I love my days with my girls ~ we never have enough!)
(Oh, and we stopped by Dollar Tree too. You can see what we found on video over HERE.) 🙂
Then we met my hubby for the local Garden Show (we love that place ~ it's amazing to see Spring inside when it's winter out and about)! and the best part is (in the weirdest way!) it helps us to stay on track and dream big for our long-term financial goals.Â
Friday I finally tried on my newest Stitch Fix Box, and am still debating what I'm going to keep. If you're interested in trying out Stitch Fix, see my review over HERE.Â
And goodness now after a way-t00-long-day sitting here typing for a few big projects we have around the corner, I am headed home to start it all over again.Â
WHEW. 🙂Â
And I wouldn't change a single thing.
If you have a few minutes this weekend, tackle your linen closets and be sure to clean out that junk drawer. But before you do any of that, go do something fun with your kids and your hubby too. Because those are the fun things that make space and create value for the mundane things ~ praying just a beautiful weekend for you!
And in case you haven't joined us yet in this PPP Home Planner group, I highly recommend you checking it out here (goodness, the reviews we have on this planner have been simply amazing, and I love the sweet community we have inside too!) The physical copies of the planners are completely sold out, but we have the digital version still available and I know you will benefit from these lists if you need a little guidance in your home each week.
Head on over HERE to check out the 2020 Home Planner PDF if you're interested in this one. And I'd sure love for you to leave me a comment if you're joining in the fun too (I'm cheering for you!)
