How to Make a Chopped Salad
One thing I love about this recipe is how easy it is to make! The longest you'll spend in the kitchen is cooking your bacon 😉.
Start by chopping up your whole ingredients – the Romaine, cooked bacon, and apples.
Next, you'll toast your chopped pecans. While this step is optional, toasted the pecans really brings out that yummy, nutty flavor! You can add them to a pan on the stove over medium heat and stir. You'll notice as they get a little darker in color and you can really start to smell them. This should take 3-5 minutes.
Finally, make your dressing. I love our homemade dressing for this – it's the perfect combination of tangy and sweet! Add all ingredients to a bowl or cup and whisk to combine. I like to make my dressing in a mason jar so I can just shake it up! This also makes it easy to double or triple the dressing recipe and save for future salads in the fridge.
Combine all your ingredients in a large bowl and toss to combine. This chopped salad is so tasty as a main dish, or you can pair with your favorite protein like grilled chicken or burgers to make a complete meal.
