How to Make Coffee Filter Watercolor Earth

Have your kiddos use the green and blue markers to color in the coffee filter. You can show them a picture of Earth to guide them, or just let them be creative!

Once the coffee filter is colored in, place on a plate or into a pan and gently spray with water. You’ll see the colors start to blend together to create a beautiful watercolor effect.

Note: be careful not to use too much water because the colors will wash off.

Move to a towel or paper towel to dry. You can speed up the drying time by using a fan or hair dryer.

Once dry, admire your beautiful planets! You can add to this craft by making a bunch of different Earths, using a single hole punch to punch a hole on top, and threading a string through to make a garland. (We didn’t do this because mom was tired, but you can! 😉 )

I kind of love the print that is leftover on the paper towel, too! You could cut out this circle as part of your craft.

Earth Day Cookies

Add some extra fun to your Earth Day craft and make these gorgeous and delicious Earth Day cookies!

Optional: Earth Day Learning

If you want to incorporate a little bit of learning into your Earth Day craft, here are some fun, age appropriate discussion questions and Earth facts.
