Deviled Egg Brownies

If there’s one tray at a party that’s hard for anyone to resist, it’s the deviled eggs! There’s just something about those little guys that make you okay with eating six eggs in one sitting, right? Now, imagine you’re at a lovely Easter brunch and you see a tray of deviled eggs – but this time they’re made of chocolate. A dream come true! These deviled egg brownies are the cutest spring treat and so stinkin’ easy to make!

All you need is an egg-shaped mold for baking, your favorite boxed brownie mix, and some frosting – and you’re ready to make this adorable dessert!

What You’ll Need:

  • Boxed brownie mix (or homemade if you prefer!)
  • Canned white frosting
  • Food coloring (optional but really adds to the pastel spring vibes – I like neon colors for this one)
  • An egg-shaped mold for baking like this one

How to Make Deviled Egg Brownies

Start by preparing the brownie mix according to your box directions and preheat your oven to 325 degrees.

Place the silicone molds onto a large baking sheet. Fill each cavity of the egg mold until it’s just about full but not overflowing as the brownies will rise while baking. I was able to get 16 eggs from one box mix but you can easily double this recipe for more if needed.

Bake your brownies for about 25 minutes, keeping an eye to not over-bake.

Remove from the oven and immediately while they’re still hot, use a rounded scoop or teaspoon to press into the “egg” where the yolk would be, creating a round crevice.

For the filling, I used a white frosting that I colored with food coloring into four unique, fun colors.

Pro tip: I use store-bought canned frosting, but I use the whisk attachment with my hand mixer to carefully whip it in the can. This makes it nice and fluffy, easier to spread, and yields more frosting!

Put each color into a Ziploc bag. If you have one large piping bag with an icing tip, you can easily swap out each color into the larger piping bag.

Once the brownies have cooled completely, pop the brownies out of the mold.

Pipe a small amount of colored frosting into each hole. Top with sprinkles if you have them and enjoy!

I just love how these really look exactly like a perfect deviled egg but for chocolate lovers! These deviled egg brownies are great for Easter, a spring lunch, or really any event where you might normally have this classic appetizer.

My kids were absolutely delighted when I showed them these fun treats and I know yours will be, too!
