I ran quickly to CVS this morning and scored the two razors above for just $.29 after coupons and Extra Care Bucks! There are a few better deals if your store still has other Venus products in stock still, but I was still pretty pleased with my deals! Here's what I purchased ~
I just now saw a few comments that the Buy One Get One Free Razor coupons are for “disposable razors” and that the Embrace is not considered disposable because it has refills. I apologize guys (and feel so bad… I didn't even think about it!)
Bought 2 1 Venus Embrace Razors $8.29
Used Buy One Get One Free coupon from the 8/5 Red Plum insert (adjusted down to $7.99 per limit on coupon)- Also used $3/1 coupon from the 8/26 P&G
- Paid $5.59 out of pocket, got $5 ECBs, makes them $.29 each after ECBs!
Here are a few other deals that I see after doing a little price checking . . .
Buy 2 1 Gillette Venus Razor $7.29
- Use
Buy One Get One Free coupon from the 8/5 Red Plum insert - Use $3/1 coupon from the 8/26 P&G
- Pay $4.29 out of pocket, get $5 ECBs ~ makes them free after coupons and ECBs!
Buy 2 1 Gillette Custom 3 Soothing $8.29
- Use
Buy One Get One Free coupon from the 8/5 Red Plum insert (will be marked down to $7.99) - Use $3/1 or $5/1 coupon from the 8/26 Procter & Gamble insert
- Pay $5.29 out of pocket, get $5 ECB ~ makes them $.29 after coupons and ECBs

Regarding P&G coupons…there is new wording on them if anyone didn’t notice. They no longer say “limit 4 like coupons in same shopping trip”, they say “limit 4 like coupons per household per day.” I don’t think they could have made that any more clear. Also, I am sure many will disagree, but it is my understanding (and that of a couple of very prominent bloggers) that the phrase on P&G coupons that says “Limit one coupon per purchase of products and quantities stated” means a BOGO coupon or a BxGx coupon attaches to all items listed on the coupon and another coupon should not be used with it, like a $ off coupon with a BOGO coupon. Coupons typically say limit one per purchase, but P&G coupons specifically say the phrase “limit one coupon per purchase of products and quantities stated.” What do you think Laurie? I know before when I tried to use a $ off coupon in addition to a BOGO coupon at CVS it would beep, it didn’t matter if I gave the BOGO coupon first of the $ off coupon first. Of course, some cashiers will push it through, but others won’t. I completely understand the phrase limit one coupon per purchase means a coupon for each item purchased in that transaction, but when P&G throws in the rest of the phrase, it confuses the issue.

I was really curious about it Mary because I didn’t think it would work (I actually went to try it out to make sure I didn’t give wrong information here, and my friend Shannon and I both kept looking at all those Gillette coupons trying to figure out what would work.) I explained to the cashier exactly which coupons I had, and asked if that was allowed (unfortunately I didn’t see the size limits which I now feel horrible about!) She said that “one coupon goes with the regular item, and the second with the bogo item” so that both would work. They both scanned without any issues (no beeps!) 🙂 so I assumed it was okay.
That being said, I didn’t even think to look more closely at the fine print and often times the cashiers never look (or are all that coupon savvy!), so since it didn’t beep neither of us thought anything about it. The wording is very hard to understand at all ~ and I do think P&G will reimburse it either way. My interpretation of “one coupon per purchase of products and quantities stated” would more be that they only want you to use 1 coupon on each item, and to make sure that the size is correct… not sure that I would think it means the BOGO coupon. But, I need to look at that more (I haven’t researched much coupon language lately because it overwhelms me!)

no problem, they were still only pay tax. also there is a scenario to be made with the olay 10 off 30 rebate and the ECBS and the bogo 50% on cleansers. i messed it up and am less than a dollar short so another trip for me but basically in the PG 7/29 there is a buy cleanser get body wash or bar soap free and in the PG 8/26 there is $1 off any facial cleanser. i bought 2 big cleansing wipes and 2 body washes and am less than a dollar short but i bet it could be worked out that it’s all free

The BOGO coupon is for disposable razors, these razors are not disposable as you can buy refills for them..

Ughhhh – I didn’t see that Sue and now I feel horrible! They were up to $7.99, but that totally makes sense. I’ll update the post now! 🙁
