Customize Your Store-Bought Cakes with This Sprinkles Hack!
Let’s face it, store-bought cakes are convenient, but they often lack that personal touch. If you’re short on time but still want to impress your guests (or your demanding 3-year-old), this simple sprinkles hack saves the day! These edible cake toppers made of chocolate and sprinkles are so easy and quick to make.
What You’ll Need:
- Melting chocolate (white, milk, or dark. Your choice!)
- Ziploc Bag or Piping Bag
- Nonpareil sprinkles (this trick does NOT work on regular jimmies so make sure to grab the nonpareils!)
- Metal or plastic cookie cutters (any shape that fits your theme)
How to Make Your Sprinkle Cake Toppers:
- Start by melting your chocolate in the microwave according to package directions. (I just melted the chocolate right in the Ziploc bag!
2. Pour an even layer of sprinkles on a plate and set the cookie cutter right on top of the sprinkles.
3. Cut the tip of your chocolate bag off and start piping the melted chocolate into the fun shaped cookie cutter evenly.
4. Now, don’t miss this tip: pop the entire plate with the sprinkles, cookie cutter, and chocolate into the freezer for 5-10 minutes. Once the chocolate is fully hardened, gently press it out of the cookie cutter. It should slide right out without cracking.
5. You can see now that you have a rainbow animal, shape, or number for your cake!
6. Place your edible cake topper onto any store-bought cake for an instant upgrade. It’s cute, colorful, and totally custom.
They’re perfect for birthdays, baby showers, holidays—or just because. Whether you're a baking pro or a party host in a pinch, this sprinkles hack adds personality and flair to even the simplest supermarket cake (or cupcakes).
