STOCK UP NOW WHILE THIS IS ON SALE! This rarely goes this low, and I use it ALL year long – I ordered 3!

If you need an amazing daily sunscreen – this Elta MD UV Daily Tinted Face Sunscreen is my go-to (recommended to me by my dermatologist). I use it every single day and I love it – but it’s pricey and pretty much NEVER goes on sale.

BUT, today on Amazon dropped the price to around $29.45 with Subscribe & Save and eCoupon (or $26.35 with 5 S&S subscriptions – that’s 39% off!) – which, for this product, is a steal! (It never goes on sale). This sunscreen is lightweight and leaves no residue so you can wear it under your normal makeup. It’s great for sensitive and even acne-prone skin, and it gives a dewy, sheer coverage with the light tint.

Or, if you’re looking for a less expensive alternative, the CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 is on drop today too for under $10.20!

Now is a great time to try it out if you’ve been curious!

Or you can get the UV Clear variety for under $32.15 after eCoupon and S&S!

Note: these were the sample sizes from my dermatologist to show you a peek. The links we shared from Amazon are the full size products!

What does the Dr. really recommend for daily skin care?  These products were recommended to me by my dermatologist (and can be found on Amazon) so I wanted to share them with you!  (That’s what virtual friends are for right?)

NOTE: What might be right for my skin may not be right for yours – so check with a dermatologist before starting any skincare routine!

I had my skin checked recently by my dermatologist (I’m pretty fair skinned but have always been REALLY faithful about always wearing sunscreen and moisturizing ~ however I’ve never actually gone to get baseline skin check, and knew it was time to get that done!). I wanted to just make sure there wasn’t anything I needed to worry over and see if she had any recommendations for the very best ways to care for my skin.

You can see my favorite makeup that I use right over HERE which includes sunscreen in my foundation. I really do love that stuff!)

I loved the tips my dermatologist recommended on best skincare products to buy on Amazon, so figured I’d share them with you. The La Roche products are definitely a little on the pricey side but I think will last me for months, so we’ll see how it goes!

Here’s what she recommended that can be found on Amazon:

She sent me home with a bunch of sample sizes (shown above), so I’ve ordered a few of them to try out. So far I like all of them, but my favorite by far is the Elta Tinted Sunscreen to use (and she recommended I use them on my neck area too ~ just watch out because it will get on your blouse if you’re wearing something with a higher neckline!).

My neck has always bothered me a little bit, and it just seems to even things out (since I haven’t always been great about putting sunscreen and moisturizer on my neck, I’m hoping this will help!)

And here’s how she recommended using them:

Morning Routine

  1. CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
  2. La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C Face Serum with Hyaluronic Acid & Salicylic Acid
  3. EltaMD UV Daily Moisturizer with SPF 40

Evening Routine

  1. CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
  2. La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Face, with Vitamin B5
  3. CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion for Dry Skin

She also recommended Tretinoin Cream (also known as Retin-A). You can only get that from a physician ~ I totally took her up on it. I’ve heard amazing reviews and the cost out of pocket was around $30 – the bottle should last me a few months. We’ll see how it does!

I’ll be honest, being online so much (and sharing so much video around here!), definitely makes me anxious about my wrinkles and age spots as they’re popping up, so I’m just doing my best to keep my skin in as good shape as I can. (So far I really don’t mind getting older because I really don’t feel older most days, but I don’t want to look older than I need to if I don’t have to ~ whew!).

What skin care have you found that you’ve loved? Do you have any recommendations? Have you tried any of these? I’d sure love to hear your tips ~ now scoot on off and go moisturize your neck ladies! 🙂

This is the second time I have tried to use a e coupon on Amazon.
I was ordering the glue gun.
I called customer service and they said the coupon was not valid.
    It’s very disappointing

So sorry you’ve been having trouble with the code. It looks like the code is working on our end. We’ve had several team members try it. It’s only working on the pink one. I should bring the total down to $17.03. We’ll update the post to reflect the color option. You may want to try opening the link in another browser. Hope that helps! 🙂 https://passionatepennypincher.com/hot-glue-gun-sale/

  2. Barbara says

In the product picture the sunscreen looks to have a yellowish tint; however, your skin looks to have a pink tint. My skin tends towards pink, and I don’t look good in yellow tinted makeup. Is the sunscreen more yellow or pink? Thanks

  3. Laura says

EltaMD sunscreen is the best! I have tinted and regular. My derm wants that higher zinc content in my sunscreen since I had melanoma 4 years ago (stage zero, got clear margins and still doing well). Annual skin checks are just like your annual mammogram. HUGE help in early detection!!

  4. Rhonda says

    Hi Laurie!
Love your makeup bag and video you did showing us everyday gals what an everyday gals does & uses! I to have hooded eyes but I’m about 10 years ahead of you. Hooded eyes makes our eyes look smaller. I notice often in your pictures it appears you were eye line in your water line I believe. You did not show this on video. Can you touch on this if where you add it and what eyeliner? I feel I need some but never used it in waterline. Even this older dog still wants to learn. Lol! Thanks so much! Your wonderful!

    • Laurie says

Hi Rhonda! Honestly – all I do is wear mascara, but my skin is super oily, so ANY makeup tends to run a bit. For me it just runs enough to look like eye liner (but I don’t wear any liner!) Hope that helps a little at least!

  5. LMS says

I was recently told by my endocrinologist that CeraVe often contains parabens which can be linked to hormone disruptions! Please don’t use skincare with parabens!

    • Laurie says

Thank you for sharing LMS – I hadn’t heard that but just looked into it really quickly and it looks like some of their products have removed the parabens. But so glad you said something and I’ll do a little more research for sure!

  6. Nicole J says

    Yes! Rodan+Fields!!

We have a tinted moisturizer also! But, all of our products come with a 60 day empty bottle, money back guarantee!! My skin has NEVER been better.

About the tretinoin cream, what kind came in a bottle?? I’ve seen tubes, but no bottles? I’m curious now. Lol!

    • Laurie says

My skin is a little more on the oily side and sensitive also, but so far I haven’t had any issues with them! My daughter has drier skin and they haven’t bothered her skin ~ hope that helps a little at least!

  7. Bernadette M Mandes Wildemore says

Hi, and thanks so much for these recommendations! I’m definitely in the age group where, like you, i can surely say i don’t feel older, but you bet i don’t want to look older if i don’t have to! Do you have any useage suggestions for how to use the products you’ve listed, and also any idea where (in what sequence) you’d use a self tanner (if you wanted to use one)? Thanks again!

    • Laurie says

I just used them in the order above Bernadette! Here you go 🙂 Morning Routine

      CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C Face Serum with Hyaluronic Acid & Salicylic Acid
EltaMD UV Daily Moisturizer with SPF 40
      Evening Routine

      CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Face, with Vitamin B5
CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion for Dry Skin

Hope that helps (and I’m with you on not wanting to look any older than we have to!) 🙂
