I have it in the royal blue color, size medium and it fits true to size. The ruffle shoulders are so cute and the ruching on the stomach is great if you need a wee bit of camouflage. The brief bottoms are not cheeky either! The top has good coverage and support, with removable padding. It's just a wonderful and comfy swimsuit for summer!
Snag it HERE while it's over HALF OFF!
I'm also loving this classic black suit (it has touching and can be worn strapless)
as well as this one shoulder swimdress. This one is GREAT because of the skirt ~ not so sure how I feel about the one shoulder but it might be worth trying out!
MORE Popular Amazon Swimsuits
Looking for a great swimsuit for summer? We have tried on SEVERAL to give you some real feedback – here are some you might want to check out!
Earlier this week I started searching all the popular Amazon bathing suits, and goodness, it is tough to wade through the good ones and the bad ones in reviews! While I love Amazon, sometimes I feel like the ratings are skewed, so I figured I would do the work for all of us, and give you some feedback on each one. Jamie, Mary, and Amber on the PPP team have also tried a bunch of Amazon bathing suits, so hopefully this helps make finding the perfect suit for you a tiny bit easier this year!
TIP: I love love love this white bathing suit coverup! And, for the record, I took these pics late one evening because I knew they needed to get done ~ but they're definitely kind of grainy as it was getting darker outside. I'm pretty much the worst influencer on the planet 😉 but I know how hard it is to find a great bathing suit on Amazon, so hopefully this helps!
Okay. This pink swimsuit on Amazon is honestly kind of my favorite (I was shocked!) Truth be told, I'm 40++++ years old, and have never ever never worn a bathing suit without a skirt (TRULY. Not one single time in my life!) But this one was just so cute and I loved the bright color so I went for it. Turns out it's hands down the winner for me!
Here's what I loved/didn't love:
- Slimming: the slight ruching around the stomach definitely helps hide any extra pooch. I love that!
- Support: this one is pretty supportive through the chest, and the straps are adjustable which makes it easy to adjust. Woot!
- Sizing: I'm 5'7″, 144 pounds and wearing a size medium. Fits perfectly!
- Back coverage: not low in the back.
- Cleavage coverage: this one isn't low at all and felt the most modest of all the suits I tried.
- Cheekiness: NOT CHEEKY. YAY!
- Colors/sizes available: comes in S – XXL and TONS of colors and patterns. I'm loving the royal blue in this one too!
- Price: under $30.60 in cart
Verdict. If you want a great one piece with no skirt, BUY THIS ONE. 🙂
This navy blue tankini on Amazon came in at a solid #2 for me (and it's under $34. YAY!) I already have a few navy swim skirts I can pair it with to feel more comfortable, and I'm pretty sure I'll wear this one most this year.
Here's what I loved/didn't love:
- Slimming: the slight ruching is great. Yay!
- Support: this one was supportive and straps are adjustable. I also felt like the fabric was slightly heavier than other inexpensive suits I've seen.
- Sizing: I'm 5'7″, 144 pounds and wearing a size medium. Fits well!
- Back coverage: not low in the back.
- Cleavage coverage: this one's a little low in the front for sure ~ if you're heavier through your chest, you might want to size up.
- Cheekiness: NOT CHEEKY AGAIN. WOOT!
- Colors/sizes available: comes in XS – 22 Plus, and TONS of colors and patterns. Seriously, this one might just be the winner across the board!
- Price: under $34
Verdict. If you want a great classic tankini in just about any size this is it!
If you're looking for a classic black bathing suit that's super slimming (especially as a pear shape!) this is the one.
Here's what I loved/didn't love:
- Slimming: this one had more ruching around the stomach which was a big win for me – it definitely helps smooth things over!
- Support: this one is fairly supportive through the chest but not quite as supportive as the pink. The straps are adjustable.
- Sizing: again 5'7″, 144 pounds and wearing a size medium. Fits perfectly!
- Back coverage: not low in the back.
- Cleavage coverage: definitely a lot lower than I normally wear. If you're larger chested, just know it won't cover as much.
- Cheekiness: Slightly more cheeky than the pink but not so much that I feel awful in it. Most likely though I'd wear this with a swim skirt overtop!
- Colors/sizes available: comes in S-XXL and TONS of colors and patterns. I'm loving the royal blue in this one too!
- Price: under $33!
Verdict. If you want a classic suit to tan in with minimal straps, and super reasonably priced, BUY THIS ONE. 🙂
Okay, this bathing suit was alllllll over the internet when I started searching popular Amazon bathing suits. I was intrigued (although I knew no way could this one work….) but it was just so cute in pictures I had to try!
While it is a cute construction, the weird color block was a no go for me (honestly it looks much better in the picture here than it looks in real life. Phew!) But here are all the details in case you're curious:
Here's what I loved/didn't love:
- Slimming: not super slimming. The wonky white pattern on one side is weird- I think if both sides were the same color across the top it could have been better!
- Support: this one isn't especially supportive, and the white bra padding is kind of wonky. Not a fan.
- Sizing: again 5'7″, 144 pounds and wearing a size medium. Fit well.
- Back coverage: not low in the back.
- Cleavage coverage: not super low – but the white just feels off!
- Cheekiness: Not cheeky.
- Colors/sizes available: comes in S-XL and several other colors, but always have one side that's white. Again, not my favorite!
- Price: under $31 – so still a great price!
Verdict: um, don't buy this one? 🙂
Last but not least, here are my two favorite coverups ~
- This White V Neck Buttondown Coverup definitely was my favorite one!
- I also like this shorter black skirt coverup
- This black Amazon coverup
- And this longer white skirt coverup too.
And just in case you're curious, I'm still a pretty big fan of this classic black bathing suit with a skirt. :) So if you want one that just feels comfortable to walk around in and not too showy, this is the one for you!
Here's a peek at a few more PPP Team Tested Popular Amazon Swimsuits!
Hilor One-Piece Crossover Swimsuit – $30.20 (Reg $40)
PPP Team Member Mary snagged this one last summer and it's now on sale for just $30! She says it's fun for a resort or a cruise because it's flirty while still being modest. The crossover detail up top draws the eye upward and you can add a little skirt or wrap for more coverage on the bottom.
Here are more Amazon swimsuits we tried out that are winners!
I think I might have found the “magic” swimsuit that is cute, modest, and flattering!
Rellicega Women's Ruched Skirt Swimwear – Under $33
It's the “little black dress of swimsuits” – literally! You could wear this one while walking around a water park and not feel too exposed. The skirt is just long enough to cover what needs covering. 😉
It is WELL made, super true to size and very comfy. The ONLY thing I would say bad about it is it's not “super-sucker-in-ish” so if you're looking for a true miracle suit this might not be the one for you. But if you want a comfortable, modest, well fitting suit at a great price, this one's it!
Go HERE to check it out!
Looking for a great swim wrap to wear at the pool? I almost always wear a bathing suit with a skirt, but for the one suit that I have that's not a skirt, I just love this little wrap! I'm wearing a medium ~ Amazon has sizes S – 3XL in stock right now in LOTS of colors too. It's under $8 as a Lightning Deal right now!
I also got this suit last summer which is why I needed the swimskirt 🙂 ~ it is much lower than suits I normally wear (I normally stick with these!) but it's pretty cute if you're looking for a great one piece. Under $35 right now.
More Amazon Swimsuit Try-Ons
Several members from the PPP team tried on several best-selling Amazon Swimsuits and here are the ones we loved and a couple we didn't….
We picked some curvy-girl friendly options – as well as some that had a decent bit of coverage for running around after kids. 🙂 I'd love to hear any that you've tried and loved too!
Jamie here…. this Tummy-Concealing One-Piece one is my favorite and the one I ended up keeping! I tried it in a few colors because I had a feeling I'd love it 🙂 The ruching is great for camouflaging trouble spots and the chest support is good. Adjustable straps make it perfect! Here's another pattern I tried….
I saw so many good reviews on this one that I had to try THREE Of them! (Although I added a little swim skirt for a extra coverage on the bottom) I sized up a little and Size Large was PERFECT. (I'm 5'4″, 36 DD and 155 lbs)
I tried a few patterns in this swimsuit because I had a feeling I might love it – and I really did – I'm keeping the green one and maybe the cherries. 🙂 Here are my favorite features:
- Adjustable straps
- Ruching on tummy for a little mom-tummy camoflauge
- Modest Back
- This one piece is not high-cut – but it's still a little too cheeky for these cheeks – so I'd wear with this Target Swimskirt.
This swimsuit is very supportive – and as long as I have my swimskirt on I'd feel comfortable running around after kids and being active at the beach or pool with it on.
Do you ever put on a swimsuit and just break into a smile? No? Me either! But this one just felt like I put on a cute dress and was fun and flirty 🙂 It had a great length, great support and all sorts of extras. I ordered a Size Medium and it was a perfect fit (I'm 5'4″, 155 lbs, 36DD)
Here are my favorite features:
- Cute crossover design in back
- Built In shorts
- Great thick straps for lots of support
- Perfect length skirt
If you're looking for an inexpensive Plus-Size swimsuit option – PPP Team Member Amber ordered this Amazon Best Seller to try out for us!
The Septangle Women's Tankini Set Ruffle Swimwear with Shorts is a cute affordable option. It comes in a whopping 17 patterns – and sizes from 8 – 20 Plus.
Here's what Amber had to say!
This suit was very true to size (which is always a concern ordering off Amazon!). I really like the top. It's flattering and fits really well and the straps are thick enough you don't feel like you have to keep pulling it up (It's stable? If that makes sense…. it feels well-made/sturdy I guess is a better term).
The shorts that come with it are a decent length too – not so short but not so long you feel like you’re wearing knee shorts.
There was no chafing or weird rubbing anywhere either. And they had a ton of patterns so I'm sure you can find just about something for everyone! 🙂
I felt like an ice skater in this swim dress! I ordered the Size Medium and it fit perfect and was roomier than I thought. Super stretchy, flattering and great for longer torsos. Comes in sizes up to 28.
My favorite features on this suit were:
- The good coverage on the skirt
- The thick straps
- Removable soft cups
- Built in Shorts
What I didn't love:
- The straps aren't adjustable and have a little too much stretch in them for me (in other words – I wouldn't take a jog in this one….)
- Not tons of camouflage
This bathing suit made me feel self-conscious and like everything was squished and pushed. I ordered a Medium like I did in the other swimdresses but maybe it would've fit better if I'd ordered a Large.
What I Liked:
- Cute pinup style
- Halter top can draw the eye up and away from a problem midsection
What I didn't like:
- This one really puts the ladies on display – so was a little too revealing for me. Possibly fixed if you size up.
- Halter neck not great for big busts, I felt a neckache coming on almost immediately.
- Built in shorts were more flimsy and short
- Soft cups were a little weird
While it might have been a sizing issue – the squishing and pushing of this suit made it a No for me – but I'd love to hear if it works better for you!
Okay – now your turn! Have you tested out any Amazon swimsuits recently that you love? We'd love to hear about them!
Debbie says
Based on your reviews, I ordered the Septangle Women’s Tankini Set Ruffle swimwear with Shorts. I’m 5’4” and sadly weigh 180 with a big pooch tummy in front. I wanted something to hide the tummy, and disguise my small chest. This suit did that! I got it in a 14, which is too tight, so now I’m sizing up to a 16, and can’t wait to try it on and see how it fits. Thank you so much to Amber for her review and modeling!
Madison ~ PPP Team says
Hi Debbie! Thank you so much for that review. We appreciate your input and I just know it will help others!
Melinda says
Just an FYI I had the Hilor one last year. I loved the fit, the problem was it gives you an X tan across your chest that is extremely noticeable when you want to wear your regular clothes.
Laurie says
Good to know Melinda ~ thanks for the heads up! 🙂
Donna says
Thank you for posting these swimsuits and their pros and cons. It is very helpful! I fight trying to cover my lg mommy pouch.
I’d love it also if you could add additional larger sizes and suits for OLDer women.
Thank you ladies. Love it!
Natalie Schwein says
Thank you so much for sharing, you look good on it!
Trish says
I ordered this one last year but it’s still available. I am 5’4” and weigh 120, I wear a 34b and size 4. but I am straight up and down and do have a baby pouch and a long torso. I bought a small and maybe a medium would have fit better because the straps are a tad too tight. I will live with that because it has coverage and gives me a shape. The rouching hides my belly and my husband says it makes me look like a million bucks. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07P93DLD4/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_glt_fabc_E8A7CE3NMFX1TZRTG8NN?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Laurie says
Trish that’s great to know – thank you so much for sharing your experience with this one! If you ever feel really brave and would like to add a photo to your review – we’d sure love to include it in our roundup 😉
Betsy Crockett says
There aren’t a lot of double mastectomy friendly swimsuits out there that are affordable. Using prosthetics can be really annoying. But, the ruffle top suit looks like it might be cute option and it may make the lack of “goodies” look less obvious. Are the straps adjustable?
Laurie says
Betsy I asked out team member Amber who tried this one out for us and she had this to say: Hi Betsy! The straps are adjustable, it has a soft cup insert but looks like you might easily be able to cut that out if you wish. Hope that helps!
Betsy says
That does help! Thank you!
marti says
I have a single mastectomy and was also considering that suit. Does it have a cutout so you can use a prothesis with it? Thsnks in advance
Laurie says
Hi Marti! This one doesn’t have that that I could find, but here are some others on Amazon that might work? Praying continued health for you! https://amzn.to/3ajB5Fp
Amy says
I appreciate so much that you featured suits that were reasonably priced AND modest AND fashionable…seems hard to get all of that in one suit (much less multiple suits!) these days. Great looking options! I’d love to see some more curvy girl/plus size options.
Karen Felling says
Super helpful! I ordered the halter one!!
