Oh my word.

I am so.

Seriously, SOOOOOO .

. . . . excited about this!

(Did you catch that?) 🙂

My awesome PPP team has put together this crazy fun (FREE!) reference guide for you if you ever shop Aldi. Or Costco. Or Sam's Club, and just updated it with 2017 pricing!

You're welcome. 🙂

I was shocked (seriously, SHOCKEDby the results. I really thought Aldi would win just about every price, but you know what?

They don't.

After seeing these prices, I was pretty surprised at which items Aldi sells way cheaper (canned veggies anyone?), which items Sam's Club carries for the very best price (check out the sticks of butter), and which items are worth making a trip to Costco for. (Need cooking spray? Costco's the place to be!)

Of course, as in everything, there are some limits. The prices at Costco and Sam's may be higher (especially on produce) than Aldi, but the size of your pineapple (or watermelon, or whatever), is likely smaller.

And, there's no way to compare Costco's amazingly yummy Ghirardelli brownies to the Aldi Baker's Corner brand (which actually end up costing you more money, WHO KNEW???

This is a great reference guide that we hope makes your life shopping and deciding where to shop for certain items just a wee bit easier.

So, head on over HERE and print your free list, and please leave a comment to share your thoughts! I'd love to hear which items you're surprised by (a bunch surprised me) ~ let me know what you think.

Note – these prices will vary some by region but this hopefully gives a starting place ~ would love to hear your thoughts on this!

  1. Do you want someone to grab the BJs prices for you? I might not be able to get to it until this weekend, but I have a membership and would be willing to do it for you!

    • Thank you so much Christy – I hadn’t even thought about that but if we update the list I’ll send you an email (what a great idea!)

    Great job! Thank you!
In your article it reads like your saying Sam’s has the better vanilla price than Aldi, but they don’t.

  3. I appreciate the list, it’s a good starting point! I did notice that the post made it sound like Sam’s had the best price of vanilla, but Aldi’s does. Also, Costco’s aluminum foil was not the best like the post stated, Aldi was again, although Sam’s was almost too close to count! You might want to fix that!

  4. Good starting point.. but definitely some inaccuracies and regional differences.

  5. where is the price comparison for Walmart and target?

  6. The butter comparison does not add up using the price divided by number of pieces per unit.

  7. Donna Marie Paradowski says

I am an Aldi shopper and i also go to Sam’s club. I find your comparison prices to be way off. One example is the Aldi eggs … you have them at 1.29 and I have never payed that much for them there. Last week I paid 89 cents. They are almost always under a dollar. You need to recheck your prices

  8. Costco and Sam’s Club also have a membership fee that needs to be paid. Aldi doesn’t.

  9. Judith Addis says

Please please open a Costco at The Villages , FL32162. Everyone I talk to would love to have you here. We are a large community with 120,000 people and growing.a ,it of surrounding towns. Please consider this you would be happy with the resoults.

  10. Not sure where your location is but in Milwaukee our Costco’s have organic coconut oil. Not sure the price but it’s there! Thanks for this post it was soooo helpful!!!

  11. The price per unit Mass seems a little bit off. Many of the ones that have the same price for Costco and Sam’s, Costco has a higher quantity for the same or even a lesser price. The vanilla and coconut oil are available at least in Texas stores.
And they left out some of the biggest money Savers in store! The over-the-counter med prices, the pharmacy prices, the kitty litter and pet food prices …all can’t be beat! If you buy OTC or RX meds, vitamins, kitty litter, pet food, etc.. ( I heared diapers too, but I don’t buy those ) you WILL make up the membership price on that stuff alone!
Also, gas is usually $0.05 to $0.15 cheaper. When everyone else in Texas was jacking up the gas prices after Hurricane Harvey, Costco went up about $0.15 a gallon.. and not $0.50 to 1.00 more, or even crazier than that in places.
