If you’ve been on the lookout for a great writing pen, these TUL Retractable Gel Pens are amazing! (Or, the AmazonBasics ones are fun too with their happy colors!).

My Favorite Planner & Journal Pens

Looking for a great writing pen for journaling, your day planner, etc??  After buying and trying WAY too many pens, fineliners and markers over the years – I’ve narrowed it down and these are my very favorites!

I really love the Tul the best, I write most things in black with my Tul (They’re SO smooth, you can write easily forever with them and they don’t dry out like a papermate will if you’re writing for awhile).  I like to use the Paper Mate Flairs for adding color.  And I like the gold pens just because they’re so pretty 🙂 Also, these Sharpie S-Note Markers were a recent find, and they’re amazing as well!

TUL Retractable Gel Pens

The TUL Retractable Gel Pens are amazing! They have excellent reviews, and ships free with Amazon Prime or Free Super Saver Shipping.

I also love the happy colors of this TUL Pen Pack the best – who doesn’t like color options?

I like using mostly the dark gold and black bc it makes the planner feel “cleaner” to me (I used to be a scrapbooker and goodness, pretty sure I just have brought all my scrapbook craziness over to the planner world bc it’s a lot easier to keep up with ~ whew!)

You can click around on Amazon to find the 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 mm varieties – depending on how fine of a tip you like!

Paper Mate Flair Pens

I love my Paper-Mate Flair pens because of all they fun colors – and they DO NOT BLEED through paper – so they’re awesome for planner doodling and notebook writing.  Even thin moleskin journals won’t bleed through. I have to say, that is pretty impressive!

Unibene Gold Ballpoint Pens

I love the Unibene gold pens because they’re just so pretty.  They’re also really smooth-writing on the page and don’t bleed through.

Sharpie S-Note Markers

These are more recent find, but they’re amazing! You can snag this 12-pk of Sharpie S-Note Markers or 24-pk of Sharpie S-Note Markers if you’d like more color options!

If you’re a lefty, Sharpie Gel pens are the best! They instantly dry so they don’t smear as your hand brushes over the ink.

TUL pens are awesome! My 2nd favorite!

I absolutely love TUL pens, I will tell you though, they are so much cheaper through Office Depot and they have a wider variety. Plus, pencils, highlighters and so much more. Amazon is handy, but for TUL I would only use Office Depot, they are the company that makes them!

My go to is any dry erase marker so I can reuse them! If you use other pens/markers I’m sure just a bit of rubbing alcohol would clean it off well though! Hope that helps!

The best thing I have found is a wet erase marker, such as Vis a Vis by Expo. They will not wipe off easily to touch like dry erase, but can easily be cleaned off with a damp paper towel. They really work great!

These have been my favorite pens for a long time. Found another that might just be better – The Sharpie S Gel. Very smooth.
